Apple Music on iOS 10: so I hope (and wish) it to be

iOS 10 and Apple Music

Just yesterday, Bloomberg was the one who lit the fuse by informing the world that Apple was going to make some changes to Apple Music that they would present at the 2016 Worldwide Developer Conference that will take place from June 13 to 17. This type of news is usually given by Mark Gurman, but they were just ahead of him, not with some first details that the young editor of 9to5mac was in charge of revealing. We already know that Apple Music will improve, we know some details and now it is our turn to expose what changes we would like you to include the new version from the Apple Music application.

Apple Music + Song Lyrics

musixmatch

This is one of the details that Gurman revealed and what I look forward to most. Right now, in order to read the lyrics of a song in the Music application of iOS or iTunes I have two options: add the lyrics manually (or using Get Lyrical) or use Musixmatch, an application that is not available for OS X. Once I have manually entered the lyrics in the metadata of iTunes, I have to use a widget for the notification center. The widget I bought it a long time ago and I do not complain (much), but it is a «coupling» that has never finished convincing me and that forces me to look to the right of the screen to read the letters, when what I would like to have in front of me.

The problem with the above system is that the widget I use can only show lyrics that I have stored locally (in metadata). If I listen to songs in streaming and I want to read the lyrics, I have to search for them on the Internet. My wish here is "simple": that there be a well visible button to show me the lyrics of what is playing just by tapping or clicking on it. And, most importantly, you don't have to add the lyrics manually.

Interface improvements

The interface of the Music application is not that I dislike too much, but it can always be improved. For example, what happened to the option to see everything in landscape? It will seem silly, but on a 5.5-inch iPhone in which we are browsing with the Safari, it would be nice to be able to change the application and not have to put the iPhone vertically. I also liked how all my discs looked if I put the iPhone in landscape in previous versions.

El mini-player you have to re-think. What's the use of mini-play if to manually advance a song I have to enlarge it? If I have to be honest, I can't imagine how to improve it (not my job), but I would like to have more controls available at the same time that I can continue to consult sections such as "For you".

Improve the "For you" section

Apple Music section for you

Apple Music section for you

As I said before, it is not my job to think about how to improve things but, since last summer, the section «For you» It has given me absolutely nothing. I have discovered many groups thanks (many thanks) to Apple Music, but it was not because of the service's suggestions, but because I discovered them because they were played on a radio station that I created from an artist or a song.

Another thing that should be corrected in this section is the topic of "Do you know ...?". Let's see: if I have all my music in the iCloud library, how do you ask me if I know MetallicA? To me? Well yes, I know them, and probably better than your specialists. If I have his music in my library, don't add it to me as a suggestion, add another group that I might like.

And since we are here, if the only style of music that I have configured as a preference is Metal and Rock, what are groups like Café Quijano doing there? (true). As a joke it is fine, but we are talking about serious service.

New release alerts

Until recently, to find out about the new releases of a group or artist, I followed their accounts on Twitter. The problem is that some of the groups that I like the most are not or do not update their Twitter account, so from time to time I had to search the Internet (Wikipedia is usually a good site) the status of the discographies of these groups . I recently made an account at muspy and it works pretty well, but doesn't Apple have iTunes and a alerts option? Yes, iTunes has alerts, but I'm still waiting for it to notify me of the release of the latest Amon Amarth or Beyond The Black album.

Connect must change or disappear

Connect by Apple Music

Connect section of Apple Music in iOS 9

When they presented Connect I thought, "Will they make it work?" I have to confess that I was hoping that artists would turn to this new option, but ten months after its launch the activity is minimal. The point is that groups and artists use Facebook or Twitter to post any movement, photo or video. Apple's Connect is an attempt to "reinvent the wheel" and I am not betting on it.

If they fail to attract the attention of the artists, that tab is simply superfluous. Better to use it to add any other option. Of course, it is not clear to me that they have to eliminate Connect in its first year of life.

Higher audio quality

One of the reasons that sound specialists give for Apple to eliminate the 3.5mm headphone port is that it will be able to improve the sound quality. The streaming music service that offers the highest sound quality is TidalBut rumor has it that Apple could catch up, or surpass it, in the near future. It is not that the sound of Apple Music is bad, but it shows that it is very compressed and that it can be improved.

On the other hand, since I'm talking about sound, they would also have to fix something that I don't know if it happens to more users and in other applications, but my Apple TV does not play Apple Music music with a uniform volume. When it seems to go up, when it seems to go down ... so there is no music lover who enjoys music.

Custom lists

Something that I would also like is for you to offer me custom lists. The "For you" section has many lists that I might like (they don't usually), but they are lists created for an audience that likes the same music as me. What would be nice is that they create a system that analyzes my personal tastes and my reproductions to later create lists of, for example, what I have recently added and am listening to more. If in a week I have listened a lot to 5 groups, you could create a list with the 20 best songs of those 5 groups (I do not mean 20 of each group, if not 20 in total).

Correct the small details

Little details count too. I can't bear to see records that are important to me that have a cover that is not what it should. Or, what is worse, there are songs that are not the ones that should go on a record either. For example, the song "November Rain" from the Guns N 'Roses album Use Your Illusion I, in my case it's from a concert, or one of the songs I like the most from Amaranthe, "Afterlife" puts it on acoustic. These things must be corrected as soon as possible.

Anyway. Here's what I can think of they could improve. What would you like to see changed about Apple Music in iOS 10?

The section for you works quite well for me. He recommends a variety of the styles that I proposed to him. You can improve but it is not something that you do wrong.
I would improve the search for songs by a certain author, which today x today seems impossible to me. You put rendez vouz jean michel jarre and it doesn't work. Amazing.
Blacklists: I don't want to hear so and so.

The way you organize your artists, albums and songs is so ugly to me. In addition, the fact of having a heart is useless to me: all music that you add you like. And downloading your songs is a tedious job that you could easily save with a well-deserved update.

Greetings friend, please I need to know how I can see the lyrics of my songs that I have added manually for a long time, not only the lyrics, as well as artist information and even more data, before I could see them just by touching the screen, I add that the The vast majority of my songs were added to my itunes through my personal CDs, it turns out that after all the effort and time that I contribute to all this, it is zero, and I know that the data that I put is still there, but it is not reflected on my iphone, Thanks in advance for your great help, greetings .. !!
