Apple stalls iOS 9.3 update on old iPads

iPad 2

On Monday iOS 9.3 arrived on all compatible devices, it wasn't really a surprise since many of us had been using the beta since its first versions and we have been telling you the whole process here on Actualidad iPhone. However, those who updated their iPad 2 were dreaming of the promised optimization that never came. Thousands of devices did not get past the activation screen and Apple seemed to have no remedy. Lately it is not at all unusual to find things like this in Apple updates, which seem to not be as fine as they should be. At last they seem to have accepted the error and have issued a statement with the first instructions to carry out.

In the statement that has transmitted iMore, Apple has explained that updating older devices, including devices prior to the iPhone 5s and iPad Air, may be having problems with the Apple ID and not being activated. You will be asked for both the device password and the one used for it. Apple has automatically withdrawn the update for the affected devices and will release a solution over the next few days.

Updating some iOS devices to iOS 9.3 may require data in addition to the unknown Apple ID to configure the device and complete the software installation. In some cases users do not remember their password and their device remains in an idle and locked state. For these older devices, we have rolled back the update and a new version of iOS 9.3 will be released that addresses these issues and does not require this verification.

At first we thought that it was due to the saturation of Apple's servers, but it seems that this has not been the case at all. If you have this bug, don't worry, the update that will arrive in the next few days will allow you to restore it from your computer. You can always go back to the previous version of iOS as long as it is signed.

I spend a lot of time with my iPad Mini, I struggled a lot since it asked me for the Apple ID and it did not accept the password, after struggling a lot and changing my password on the Apple support page I was able to activate my iPad Mini. I spent two days with this problem

I have iPhone 6 and after installing this update the searches with Safari do not open, it searches and gives the list but does not open any of the answers to the search, every day Apple has me more fed up.

Same problem on iPhone 6s, Safari hangs with links. I have restored several times, it works again and after a while it fails.

      Solution?

I have temporarily fixed it by disabling javascript in safari's advanced settings.
        regards

The same happens to me. I get the searches but I can't open the links. If I go to settings and deactivate Java, most of the links work for me, but in some there are problems or they lack content

      Hello
The same thing has happened to me, I have updated and if it sends you a link, it does not open them, if you try to open a link saved in a note, it does not open it and blocks the note.

In safari, you search for anything with hoogle, you click on any displayed link and it does nothing, it has to do with javascript, it is incredible that at these heights, apple makes these mistakes, who does the tests ?, Has anyone tried safari? ?

The same thing happens to me with my ipad mini 4, with java deactivated I browse Safari although with restrictions on some pages, but with java activated it does not allow me to enter any link, it does not load directly ... I use another browser .. Puffin.
They told me that with the new 9.3 update the problem would be solved ... but it hasn't been like that, what should be done? Should we take it to apple?

        Solutions?

I updated my iPad2 without problems, indeed I request the Apple ID but I did not need to update via OTA, just download the update minutes after the publication in Mexico ...
The device works fine, at least so far.
    Excellent weekend.

Hello, the title is wrong! Apple has stopped the update on some old devices such as the IPod Touch 5g, iPhone 4s and others. You can see it on the ipsw.me page Right there it says that iOS 9.3 is not being signed on some devices

The same thing happens with my iphone6. Safari does not open and neither does the contents that redirect to Safari in any app or mail.

Well, another one with the links and search results with Safari (well, and with Chrome) ... seriously that Apple spends everything ?? 899 € of mobile so that it can not navigate ?? you have to take it to the Apple store ?? In my case it has been since I have updated to 9.3 from 9.2.1

It is already downloaded on iPad ios9.3 but when accepting conditions I find it impossible to verify the update an error occurred when verifying the ios 9.3 because you are no longer connected to the Internet (which is not true.) The same thing happens to me when connecting to the computer. What I can do?

Safari or Apple Store work, on iPad mini,
they are as deactivated. Apple will be playing. Everyone behind this company and they are not very interested in users? This world of consumerism is consuming us
