As we informed you last week Apple has released the first major update to iOS 10, update that already allows all users of an iPhone 7 Plus, to make use of the portrait function, a function that blurs the background of the image. This function is ideal for taking photographs of people, but as we have seen, the algorithm is also capable of different objects as well as animals. This update is very important in Japan, it has already come from the hand of Apple Pay for the country of the rising sun as well as information about public transport in the country.

Apple Pay is already available in the 127 million inhabitants of the country, at least in those who make use of the company's devices. Apple has partnered with FeliCa, from Sony, to offer to integrate the payment services of this public transport card that also allows purchases to be made in establishments. The compatibility with FeliCa, has come from the hand of this update, hence the importance of it.

Japan has always been one of the most technologically advanced countries which has allowed NFC payment technology to spread rapidly throughout the country since the first compatible devices began to hit the market. Currently, almost 90% of merchants in Japan offer the possibility of paying using the FeliCa card, which thanks to this update, is already compatible with Apple Pay, so that users of iPhone and this NFC card will be able to make purchases and payments directly with the iPhone without the FeliCA card.

Apple arrives in Japan being compatible with American Express, Mastercard, JCB, iD, QUICPay, AEON, Credit Saison, JCB, Mitsubishi UFJ, Nicos, Orient Corporation, Sumitomo Mitsui Card, Toyota Finance, UC Cards and View Card.
