Apple prepares a plant of 4.000 employees in India to improve its maps

One of the most notorious failures of Apple, if not the most, was the launch of its maps in 2012. Four years later it has become clear that this was a failure motivated by precipitation, since today the apple maps they have nothing to do with those who did anything but point us in the right direction. Since then, Tim Cook and company have been working hard to improve their maps and the next thing to do is open a plant that will house 4.000 employees in India.

Tim Cook, Jeff Williams and other Apple executives are now in Asia. First they went through China, the Asian market that has brought them the most benefits in recent years, and now they are in India, a country in which Apple has its hopes for the future. That's been where announced that will open the Hyderabad offices to enhance your maps in what is considered a clear statement of intent.

Apple is focused on making the best products and services in the world and we are delighted to open this new office in Hyderabad that will focus on the development of Maps. The talent here in the local area is incredible and we are looking forward to expanding our relationships and introducing more universities and partners to our platforms as we scale our operations.. It will be interesting to see the results of the work done at the Hyderabad plant. What is clear is that Apple is betting heavily on its own maps and, hopefully, we will soon forget to use other alternatives such as Google Maps or (please!) GPS navigation apps like TomTom or Sygic. Can you imagine that in iOS 10-11 Apple allows you to download the maps for use without an internet connection?
