Apple will redesign Books adapting it to the new design of the App Store

With the release of iOS 11.3, Apple has begun the testing phase to add new functions to the operating system that manages the iPhone and iPad. The first change is found with the naked eye, since the iBooks app, has been renamed simply Books, but it seems that it will not be the last change that affects this application to buy and read our favorite books.

According to the Bloomberg publication, Apple plans to completely renew the Books application, as it will begin to be called from the launch of iOS 11.3 in its final version. This design remodel will include a new tab «Reading now» separated from the book section and the store, to make it much easier to get back to reading.

In addition, we will also be able to find independently, the audiobooks and the store that gives access to the books that Apple makes available to us, with a design very similar to the one we can find in the Apple application store with iOS 11. In addition, the iBooksStore will be renamed the Apple Books Store. The application in the first beta of iOS 11.3 does not offer us changes on an aesthetic level, beyond using a real black color as the theme available for the iPhone X.

Despite the problem that Apple had in the United States with the sale of books due to the agreement it reached with the main publishers and that it cost him just over $ 450 millionApple wants its bookstore to grow as it did in its early days. It should be noted that heading the iBooks team is Kashif Zafar, who came from Audible, the Amazon company that is dedicated to recording audio books, and where Zafar held the position of senior vice president. It was about time that Apple focused on this service, a service seemed doomed to disappearance due to the lack of major changes to the platform in recent years.
