Apple removes Doorbell category from HomeKit accessories list

Undoubtedly one of the most interesting uses of our mobile devices is all the fan provided by Apple's HomeKit, to be able to control devices in our house such as light bulbs, cameras, locks, thermostats, etc. from our iPhone, Apple Watch, or iPad.

Today we bring you news related to Apple's HomeKit, yes, this time it is not good news since we want to talk about the elimination of a type of device that until now was compatible with Apple's HomeKit. Ok, at the moment there was no device on the market (officially on sale), but Apple just removed the Ringtones category from the list of HomeKit-compatible devices. After the jump we give you all the details of this elimination.

It was precisely the August brand that launched the first Doorbell compatible with HomeKit. How it works? We received a notification with a photograph or even a video in real time of what was happening behind our door to decide to open or speak with our visitor. One category, that of doorbells, which has just disappeared from the list of accessories compatible with Apple's HomeKit as we have seen in the last hours.

It is a pity that we lose devices with compatibility for HomeKit, but the truth is that these doorbells are in a way the least interesting devices (in my point of view) since the locks with HomeKit already offer characteristics very similar to what they offer us these stamps. Then there is the issue of Privacya camera focused on the street and connected can be the headache of many by incurring privacy problems, since for example in the European Union this can be a big problem due to data protection. We will see that new devices end up arriving at Apple's HomeKit.
