Apple removes the Connect function for artists within Apple Music

When Apple introduced Apple Music at Apple's developer conference in 2015, Tim Cook's company added a Connect feature, a zone where the artists had their web pages and where they could upload their new songs, photographs, lyrics… In this way the artists could be in contact with their followers quickly and easily.

Three years later, it seems that this kind of Apple Music social network has not had the expected success and has decided to load it. This section, which was half hidden within the For you tab, will no longer be available in the month of May, but since yesterday, artists can no longer upload content on this platform. All content will continue to be available until May 24 of next year.

Apple has sent a statement to the artists who used this platform in which we can read:

We've made some changes to Apple Music that we'd like to tell you about.

We are always looking for ways to improve our focus on artists and help them better connect with fans. So we've given the artists page a whole new look and added a new custom station for artists.

Today we're simplifying music discovery by removing Connect posts from the Artists page and From For You. This means that you will no longer be able to post to Connect as of December 13, 2018, but all previously uploaded content will remain available until May 24, 2019. You can still create artist playlists with the latest version of Apple Music. .

While it is true that during the launch of Apple Music, many were the artists who started using this service, Over time its use has become diluted among artists and artists who have limited themselves to using this platform only when they release a new album.
