With Macs it is something else. You have to go to an authorized service (mostly painful). I had to take my Macbook Pro to K-Tuin Madrid because the battery was starting to fail. Possibly the most "parao" and "pasota" man in the entire establishment attended to me. He told me that he would keep my Mac, with the Battery and the Charger and that they would let me know. After a week I had to call and they told me that the battery was bad and that I could go for the laptop and the charger but the battery would take another week. After another week, I call and they tell me that I have the battery there for 3 days and that I can go get it. I tell them why they have not notified me and they say they do not have the obligation to do so, I tell them that they agreed to that and they ignore (and is that if you leave something for a certain time, they have the right to keep it).

After this, and after 5 months the battery has been screwed up again and is no longer under warranty, so the review of this technical service is painful and I can no longer claim (many of you will think: it is because of using the battery a lot, but I have hardly used it, less than 50 cycles).

With this I want to conclude with the distribution of the iPhone in Spain. Movistar does not know how to distribute the iPhone after so long. The managers must be very useless, the employees do not even know that there is another iPhone and on top of it they try to convince you that there is no new one.

The solution is very obvious, Apple must control the distribution of the iPhone in Spain and everywhere. You should be able to acquire the iPhone from the same Apple Store Online and not through the disastrous Movistar distributors. In the US they already do it and in Spain they should do it now, it is necessary and very logical. Apple should control more and not leave things in the hands of others since they always end up doing it wrong.

In the absence of official Apple Store in Spain, those of Cupertino should also control the guarantee of other products in the same way that they control the guarantee of the iPhone, and of course distribute themselves this terminal that is so sought after in the streets of all our country .

    Totally agree, that is what happens for not having an official Apple Store in Spain. I am from the UK and the customer service in the Apple store is one of the best, not only because you are attended by staff who know and understand Mac and OSX, but because of the treatment, respect and education.

    Which unfortunately happens in Spain and other countries where they do not have the official Apple store. What bad memories I have of the summer when I had a problem in Spain with my Macbook pro. 🙁

    Well I don't know which part of Spain you are from but here in the Canary Islands the same day that the iPhone came out I went to a store and they told me that in a week I was already in the Canary Islands entering one per Movistar store a week, I had to sign up for one Immense list but hey 3 weeks after it came out I already had my iphone 3gs 32gb but come on, they didn't get crazy saying that the new iphone was not going to come out, on the contrary, I'm not saying no that the same employees caught that iphone 3gs that came in per week but that's the way things are.

    Today, less than a year later, the battery they gave me in exchange for mine fails again. But I don't know what is better for me, whether to buy one at El Corte Inglés (I saw that they had many) or take the one I have back to the Technical Service, and stay for almost a month without being able to use the computer other than directly connected to the current.

    Hopefully there will soon be some official Apple stores in Spain and teach everyone else how things should be done.

I take good care of the batteries of my mac and I can assure you that they have never lasted less than a year and a half and that the battery of my macbook pro, which is two and a half years old, still lasts more than half an hour and has already 115 cycles of load. As for the guarantee of your computer, it does not change from any other machine that is from 45 to 90 days of repair (and if I do not read the legislation) and do not complain because it lasts 3 weeks withheld, if you feel like it, they will have it for you 3 months and you have to put up with it. If you want speed and priority, you have bought an Applecare, which I have and the last time I spent a week and a half repairing my mac and they changed half of the equipment. What happens is that we are all very smart and we do not want to overpay for a job well done and above all we want everything to be given to us in 24 hours. Well, if you're in a hurry, buy two machines and be such a crybaby.
