Apple stops signing iOS 15.0.1

Apple stopped signing the first public release of iOS 15 in early October. 20 days later, the Cupertino-based company just quit signing iOS 15.0.1, which means that users who upgraded their devices to iOS 15.0.2 or iOS 15.1 can no longer downgrade to iOS 15.0.1.

iOS 15.0.1 was released to users on October 1 to fix a bug that was preventing users from unlock iPhone 13 models using the Apple Watch unlock function. But it was not the only problem faced by the first users to update to iOS 15.0.

It also fixed an issue that caused the Settings app to incorrectly display that device storage was full. A few days later, Apple released iOS 15.0.2 with even more bug fixes.

Currently, Apple has been testing iOS 15.1 for a few weeks, a version that is currently is in beta number 4, version that will add the SharePlay function and ProRes video codec for iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max users.

iOS 15.1 will be released on October 25, along with the final version of macOS Monterey, although as confirmed by Apple in early August, SharePlay functionality will not be available until fall.

The same goes for the Universal Control function, a feature that will also not be available with the launch of macOS Monterey.

Previous versions can no longer be installed

Going back to older iOS builds is the only solution users have when after updating, their terminal starts not working as it should. If you are among these users, and you did not downgrade at that time, the only thing you can do now is wait for the release of iOS 15.1.
