Apple updates AirPods, AirPods Pro and AirPods Max

Apple has released a new firmware update for the full range of wireless headphones thus reaching the new version 4e71.

If you have some AirPods, you have a new update available to update them. Specifically, Apple has released a new version of firmware for AirPods 2 and 3, AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max, leaving out only the first generation AirPods, which have not been on sale for a long time. The new firmware is named 4e71, and it will be automatically installed on your headphones. Apple does not usually give details about the update of its headphones, and this time is not an exception to the norm, so at this time we do not know any of the news that comes with this update.

How to know the firmware version that your AirPods have? It's easy to know, you just have to connect the AirPods, whatever the model, to your iPhone or iPad, and within Settings, in the General section and within the Information submenu, you can check the installed firmware version. It is essential that the AirPods are connected by Bluetooth, otherwise that menu item will not appear on the screen.

How to form the update of the AirPods? There is no way to launch the update manually, so you will have to wait for the new firmware to download to the headset and install. The only way to speed up the process is to place the AirPods in their case, put them on charge and open the case to connect to your iPhone or iPad, and this way it seems that the download of the update is faster.

Have you updated your AirPods? Do you notice any changes after installing the new firmware? Well, leave a comment with the news that you have been able to detect. We will publish the information as soon as we know more about this new version.

With the last update my first generation airpods were charged, which burned the battery. they could have released this firmware as well to try to fix it.

I am very afraid that if it is not with this update or the next one my newly purchased second generation airpods will be charged. If it happens again I will leave the iphone ecosystem forever. My tolerance is already pretty low.
