Apple was about to launch a black ceramic Apple Watch

Black ceramic

Some images have just been leaked showing a prototype ceramic Apple Watch Series 5 case in Color black. The company eventually dismissed that finish, and we only got to see the glossy white ceramic Apple Watch.

A ceramic finish that emerged with series 2, and remained in series 3 and 5. Currently series 6 no longer has that option. A finish that made the Apple Watch costly 1.300 Euros. It is not a lot of money for a watch, but obviously yes for a smartwatch.

Some images have been leaked in Twitter of an Apple Watch prototype of ceramics in black, along with the version that was marketed in white.

As is known, the Apple Watch Series 5 was only marketed with the ceramic finish in bright white color. It seems that there was an intention on the part of Apple to also do it in black, but in the end it was rejected.

Perhaps it did so because it was a very similar finish to Apple Watch Space Black, with stainless steel housing, glossy black finish. They would have been two models almost identical to the naked eye.

Apple introduced a ceramic Apple Watch Edition with Series 2. The following year, it released the Series 3 ceramic, but Gray. For the Series 4, the company dismissed such a finish, and there was no option to buy it with a ceramic casing. Neither gray nor white.

A year later, as with the Guadiana, it reappeared. Apple revived the high-end white ceramic model for the series 5. With the latest Apple Watch Series 6, it has again been lost to be able to buy it with that finish.

Now you have the option of titanium lighter and stronger than stainless steel. The standard version is still the body of aluminum, in different colors to choose from.
