The fourth generation of the Apple Watch, Series 4, not only meant an important aesthetic renovation of the terminal (at least in relation to the size of the screen), but it also meant lthe introduction of two new functions, one of which had been rumored for several years but did not appear to be possible to implement.
The ECG functionality, already available only on Apple Watch purchased in the United States in one of them, but not the only one. The other functionality that attracted special attention is the fall detector, a detector that automatically alerts emergencies / our beloved series to inform them that we have fallen and cannot move.
It is not the first time that we echo a news related to the operation of the fall detector on Apple Watch. On this occasion, the citizen who has seen how this function has saved his life has been Toralv Østvang, a Norwegian citizen who fell in his bathroom, remaining unconscious, but thanks to the Apple Watch, which notified emergencies, they were able to stop the bleeding he had suffered and take him to the hospital.
Østvang's daughter says she probably went to the bathroom in the middle of the night, but passed out and fell to the ground. During the fall, Østvang suffered three fractures to his face. The daughter also adds that Østvang had never considered having another type of alert system, so Thank you for wearing your Apple Watch, model that implements a fall detector.
Fall detection on the Apple Watch is detecting by tracking when you fall and asking you if you are okay. If we don't respond for 1 minute, it will automatically call emergency services and share your current location with them.
