Sleep monitoring with Apple Watch

Upcoming Apple Watch Sleep Tracker Discovered: Sleep quality, battery management, etc. Today, 9to5Mac has received information from the Cupertino company about it. They are working on implementing sleep tracking on the Apple Watch without requiring new hardware.

It was known that sooner or later Apple Watch would be used to monitor sleep, and even more so since Apple bought the company Beddit, manufacturer of Beddit Sleep Monitor and its corresponding application.

According to this information, the company ensures that no special hardware is necessary to implement such monitoring. It is therefore an addition to watchOS that will be implemented in a future update.

This improvement could be announced next week, possibly in the Keynote scheduled for September 10. So there would be new news to explain about the Apple Watch, apart from the new materials for the titanium and ceramic casings.

The new feature, codenamed "burrito," and called "bed time tracking," will allow users to choose to wear the watch while sleeping. If the user has more than one Apple Watch, they must define which one they sleep with.

While you're asleep, Apple Watch will track your sleep using the sensors it currently has: movement, heart rate, and the person's noises.…. Snoring, perhaps?

The processed data on sleep quality will be available in the mobile health app and in a new app called sleep for Apple Watch.

With this application, if the user gets up before the alarm clock sounds, if it is programmed, it will no longer sound. There will also be a silent alarm option, which will only vibrate. A detail that your partner will appreciate if he has to wake up after you. Do not disturb will also be activated when you get into bed automatically, without having to activate a time slot as before.

One of the problems that sleep tracking can present is that most users take off their watch to sleep and put it on charge.. It is a bad habit that should be changed. For example, I put it to charge an hour before going to bed, and I put it back to sleep. This simple habit saved my life. But that's another story I'll tell one of these days ...
