Apple is little given to this type of "fairs." Specifically, from January 7 to 10, the Consumer Electronic Show will be held in the North American city of Las Vegas. There big brands kick off the year. Well this time it seems that Apple does have something to say, and we are not going to see a new iPhone, or a new iPad, much less a new Mac ... Apple knows HomeKit has a major pull on consumer electronics and wants to make that clear by attending CES 2020. The Cupertino company continues to bet on its connected home platform.
Been Bloomberg who has "confirmed" the attendance of Apple to this event in which we are not clear if it comes to compete against Google and Amazon, as some sources say, or directly to ally with them. There are honestly relatively few HomeKit products on the market and they are usually quite expensive (which is why I use Alexa even though almost all of my IoT products are HomeKit compatible). However, none work as well as those that use the Cupertino company's protocol. The fact that the three dominant brands in this sector of the smart home shake hands once and for all to make all products compatible with each other is a major mine.
What we have clear is that the Cupertino company is not going to present absolutely anything at CES 2020 in Las Vegas, for that it has its own events. Mainly it will focus on showing the qualities of HomeKit compared to Google Home and Amazon Alexa, with special emphasis on how Apple safeguards our privacy, something that has been the hallmark of the company in these matters for a long time.
