Apple will include channel packages in its Streaming service

We're just a few days away from Apple introducing its new streaming video service, and rumors about what it might look like are continuing. The latest leaks seem to confirm what has been said for a long time: In addition to its own content, Apple will include third-party content to complete its service..

This third-party content would come from the hand of other content providers, such as HBO, ShowTime or Starz, at a price that would be less than what each would cost separately. In this way, Apple would be more of a streaming platform than a service itself, which would differentiate it from its main competitor: Netflix.

According to Recode, Apple would not compete directly with Netflix because it would not be a service in itself, but what it would do would be to sell content from other companies and take a part of the subscription. We could contract HBO within the Apple platform, in addition to other services and channels, creating our television on demand. To this should obviously be added the original content that Apple produces. All this would be seen through the TV application that is already available on Apple TV, iPad and iPhone in certain countries, but not in Spain.

We do not know at this point which channels Apple will include, but it is assumed that it has agreements with exclusively digital services such as Cheddar and Tastemade, as well as Showtime and Starz. It seems that the negotiations with HBO are not yet closed. The broadcast of live sports events, news or conventional television channels through your TV application could also be a possibility. All this seems to be unveiled on March 25, with a spring launch limited to the United States that would later reach other countries outside the United States. There are no details on possible pricing or specific release dates.
