Aqara launches its new Hub G3 camera, compatible with HomeKit

Aqara just released your new camera compatible with HomeKit Secure Video and that also acts as a Hub Zigbee for its accessories, with 2K resolution and motorized so as not to miss any detail.

Aqara continues to launch products compatible with Apple's home automation platform, and today it has just announced the availability of its new Hub G3 camera, with specifications such as 2K resolution, motorized to track the elements it detects, and compatibility with Zigbee devices making Hub to which they can be connected, adding them to your home automation network. In addition to the compatibility with the Apple platform, it is also compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even has an integrated infrared controller, so you can set automations that involve other compatible devices, such as televisions or air conditioners.

In addition to facial recognition, it also has gesture recognition, which can run automations. For example, if you make the gesture of two fingers, you can run an automation that you have previously configured. The connection to your network is via WiFi, compatible with 2,4 and 5GHz networks, something that is appreciated to avoid problems with some routers that do not handle dual bands well, and to install it in your network you do not need any bridge, just an Apple TV or HomePod that acts as a HomeKit central. Within HomeKit it has some limitations imposed by the Apple platform, such as FullHD maximum resolution or not being able to control the movement of the camera. To fully exploit its qualities, we must use Aqara's own app.

It was launched in United States and other European countries, like France. In Spain it is not yet officially available, although it is expected that it will soon be possible to buy it from online stores such as Amazon.
