Aralon: Sword and Shadow first real images and new trailer, Review

The first trailer for Aralon: Sword and Shadow has hit the internet, and it's great. Aralon is the upcoming 3D RPG from the creators of Ravensword: The Fallen King and Rimelands: Hammer of Thor.

The game will be available before the end of the year on the Apple App store. In the video that you can see at the end of the postYou will notice that the game is similar to any role-playing game (RPG) in the third person and in three dimensions but that it has something special. I was quite surprised by the design achieved and the great graphics, which I think are quite high quality.

The trailer and screenshots come from the iPad version of the game, which explains the contradictory user interface. The developer has indicated that you can also double tap on the screen to indicate the direction in which you want your character to move, so you won't have to use the D-pad if you don't want to. Like Oblivion, you will also be able to play the game from first person view or third person perspective.

The developer of Aralon: Sword and Shadow, Galoobeth Games, has been working for a year and a half, a development cycle more in line with online games for consoles than games for the iPad. Why has it taken so long? Because Aralon: Sword and Shadow is huge.

The kingdom of Aralon, surrounded by lands infested with Orcs, constitutes the fantasy world that we will explore in the game. It is a land where humans, elves, and trolls live in fragile peace, while furry gnolls, green-skinned grawls, and other strange creatures are always looking for unwary people to feast on their meat. The game world is said to be 10 times the size of Ravensword, and includes flora, fauna, caves, canals, palaces, and cities. Considering all of the content, it's no wonder the game runs for an estimated 30 hours of playtime, with a long main story and a hearty helping of side quests.

In Aralon: Sword and Shadow you will play as the main character whose race, class, and appearance you can choose and customize. You can be a troll, elf, or a human, and choose as a class between warrior, wizard, rogue, or ranger. Each class is conveniently differentiated from the others, with the attributes and abilities that you would expect it to have. But the customization doesn't stop there. There are currently 529 different items in the game, including tons of armor, weapons, and potions. You can also choose to ally yourself with a faction or clan, which will open up new side missions for you. If you want, you can also go exploring, learn things like how to mix potions, collect herbs, open locks, and carry two weapons at the same time.

Combat in Aralon: Sword and Shadow takes place in real time. A toolbar at the bottom of the screen contains buttons for the skills you have learned, and if your character can also use magic, you will be able to fire pyrotechnic attacks at your enemies. If the bad guys give you too much trouble and you can't beat them, if you want you can go into a nearby tavern to hire a thug to help you in battle.

The images that the developer has shared with us are mostly of the armor and clothing that will appear in the game. Most of the game's artwork is being created by Mark Jones, who worked on the Elder Scrolls, Morrowind, and Oblivion series.

Now you will see two videos, the first the new trailer for the game and the second the original trailer from a few months ago so you can see how it has improved significantly.
