Attention to international calls with Movistar

international

A few days ago there was talk in Actualidadiphone.com of the large number of users who are satisfied with the iPhone but not with the company (Movistar).

The problems of the commitment that users acquired when buying the terminal increase if they have to move abroad.

If moving outside of Spain, the user will have to take into account that the minimum contracted consumption is not binding with international calls. That is, if you make a call outside the national territory, this call (or messages) will be charged apart from consumption minimum contracted. If your consumption was 20 euros, in addition to that amount you will have to pay whatever the call or message you send from international territory costs you.

That added to the fact that the user must deactivate Data Roaming abroad in order not to pay high costs for Internet access, they make the iPhone practically "Useless" outside of Spain or that the user has to pay a high billing cost.

It would be interesting to talk about the same situation but with the data rate.
Last April I released my iPhone with Movistar abroad, France.
I called the day before to do the romaining and asked if my data flat rate existed abroad. I made about 5 calls from when I left until I arrived at the destination to be confirmed.
On the way back from the trip I found the surprise on the first bill. (quite a welcome gift) I called to complain, as they had confirmed in several calls that there was no problem.
After much insistence, apparently it was a mistake of them in the billing of the iphone. In the next invoice it would be returned.
We are in December and I am sick to call these unpresentable. They end up hanging me after moving me from one department to another.
Last week I called like 14 times and all with the same result, they hung up on me.
Obviously I want to look to claim another way.
Not if any user has a recommendation.
It is very unfortunate that after acquiring the commitments that the iphone brings with it, you have to go through this.
It should be said that the customer service is very poor in all its variants.
Let's see if these thieves' exclusivity runs out and they see the wolf's ears.

Greetings and sorry for the off-topic.

I completely agree with everything that has been said.

In August of this year I was lucky enough to travel to New York, and I have to say that the iPhone, thanks to Timofónica, became more of a useless junk than an advantageous gadget for these occasions, all of course, for having to disable data roaming and having it in airplane mode almost the entire trip, since if they sent you sms or called you, it also cost you a fortune, and all this paying a flat data rate and minimal voice consumption.

It is truly scandalous that these "bad companies" continue to make a coat of their cloak and overwhelm us again and again, yes, with the connivance of the government (the current and previous ones).

These from movistar are scoundrel thieves!
I have a crazy desire to finish my 24-month stay (there is less) to request the liberalization of the iphone.
    Has anyone experience in this regard? I imagine that these *! X & $ @ !!!!!! ... ..

I have to travel to the United States shortly and I had planned to take my iPhone, requesting roaming from the heads of Telefónica. So roaming doesn't work? Isn't there any special rate so you don't get nailed when you come back? Thanks!

  5.   rastin said

I guess what you have happens with all companies, they all hit you for being roaming and receiving calls or data. In addition, Movistar does not include in the minimum consumption the number you have as your favorite or my five.
The advantage of the iPhone that you have wifi and with skype you can make cheap calls from anywhere, I have been in Asia this summer and I have used it like that, I called Spain every day for a rate of 4,5 euros / month, that Yes to landlines, but the rates you have for mobiles are not expensive either.

Let's see, to start you say it as if you just found out, and this has been the case since the iPhone came out.
ALL companies work the same, outside of Spain IT MUST ONLY BE USED WITH WIFI, since it has nothing to do with telephone. Only in urgent cases, maybe I would use it, but always knowing that I will pay for it and well paid. They are not thieves, because they are all the same and because IT IS IN THE CONTRACT YOU SIGN.
With calls more of the same, with the difference that it has been the case since the beginning of time, if you go outside of Spain, each call will cost you a peak.
    I don't know, I see it so obvious….
And I don't work for Telefonica

If they charge you something by mistake, ignore "on the next invoice ..." you ask them to send you that in writing, and if they do not return the invoice through the bank, you will see that they will call you soon to find out why it has been returned , and as long as they don't solve it ... you don't pay it. They will not cut the line because it is a loss of money for them since they could not bill you and you can claim them

  8.   Oskar said

The iPhone and iPhone Plus data rate are ONLY FOR USE IN NATIONAL TERRITORY. Read the contracts you sign well, once you leave the coverage of movistar spain the other operator will bill your connections to movistar depending on their rates, not those of movistar.

If you call movistar and ask how the rate works abroad, they will tell you that the same as in Spain, what you have to ask is how they rate.

There is a button for something that says «Data roaming» in the settings ... 😉

Any phone is useless outside of Spain with any company and whoever says otherwise is lying.

  10.   silver72 said

We would have to do all of them and I say all is not to use the telephone outside of Spain, so that they will lower the price of calls if they want it to be used.

At least in my case, not only international calls do not count in the minimum monthly consumption, but also calls to my favorite and not to anything that is a "savings module". Specifically, I had contracted the "my people" rate. and I registered "my favorite" and in the first bill, not a single of my calls counted in the minimum consumption. The sms to these destinations are three quarters of the same. Calls to 9xx, 118xy, and other short numbers either…. Overall, more than a savings module it was a non-savings module, clearly this was not reported to me in the store when they told me a roll that you shit to choose the price plan. I sincerely believe that all of us should exhaust the permanence and do the portability to vodafone or yoigo, which have a cheaper data rate (almost 50%) and a price plan without restrictions that are more favorable to the company than to the client. By the way and also we should all do the insurance of the iphone and before carrying the number destroy the iphone and take care of the € 200 that costs the replacement (not repair) for a new one, with new battery, without scratches, etc. . Anyway, I just want to state that Telefonica should rethink a lot how it cares for its customers, that deep down is where it is nourished, and that if we all played like them we could do a lot of damage.

@Oskar: Obviously my call to the SAT was in reference to pricing, not whether the use is the same as in Spain.
The data is in my contract, yes, but the company is obliged to inform the client in a call to the SAT, which is what it is for and all clients pay for it.
Of course, the misinformation, or lack of information, led me to have to pay the bill.
Of course there is nothing illegal, and if it alleges. Well, I sign a contract where it is specified and I agree.
They are earning that the barrage of customers that we tie ourselves to Movistar through the iPhone, we dump at the first exchange rate.

    A greeting.

It is the bad thing about the iphone, that when it leaves Spain it is worth nothing ... although I did something interesting for those of you who travel. I released it with Snow, and when I got to the usa I bought a prepaid att sim with data plan. I enjoyed my iphone more than at home: gps, google searches, around me, travel guides, calls… everything!

During the trip to New York, I forgot to comment, as pointed out in this same thread, that, for those who are interested or have thoughts of traveling around these lands soon (totally recommended), I stayed at the Hotel Pennsylvania ( right in the center) and two streets off on the left there is a Dunkin 'Donuts with real FREE wifi, therefore I spoke with Tenerife through the nose with Skype ... A TOTAL ENJOYMENT, every minute I spoke I remembered more about Timofónica, ORGÁSMICO, if I may. I encourage everyone to use this solution and shoot those white-collar mafias by the nose.

I have an Italian SIM, from TIM. With it I have cheap roaming within the European Union. I pay 1 euro a day, and they give me a bonus of 30 megabytes.

10 days abroad, I pay 10 euros and I can consume 300 megabytes.

With Movistar ... 10 euros a day for a bonus of 10 megabytes.
    Take it now!

@dani, I don't know if you mean to release the terminal, but if so, you only have to wait a year, you call and they have an obligation to release it. Greetings

Vomiting policy is totally contrary to business ABC, customer satisfaction to build loyalty. But, in this case, thanks to the exclusivity with the iPhone, since the competition is just as bad, they can afford it.
I believe that if tomorrow all Vomitar clients were given the opportunity to leave the company, 99% would. Because they don't have loyal customers, but "slave" customers.

It is clear that the iPhone abroad is not of much use. The only thing that you can take advantage of is the Wi-Fi connections. Keep in mind that in other countries open Wi-Fi networks are much more advanced than in Spain. For example, I was in Amsterdam in January and it was rare that you couldn't find a network with open Wi-Fi. But it is clear that thanks to timofónica it is not ...

Whenever you have traveled outside of Spain, the rates that apply are higher than within the country. I do not think that because we have an iPhone we will be charged a different rate, and much more thinking that the company is Movistar ...

Hello. On Saturday I travel to Brussels and I will be there until Wednesday. For fear of the famous "uncontrollable downloads" that I see on the forums what the iPhone does, even with data roaming disabled, I have called Movistar to inform me and they have told me that, if I only want to use the iPhone to make or receive calls, Apart from deactivating roaming within the iphone settings, they recommend me to temporarily cancel the data (gprs) for what could happen, since the daily cost for 10Mb is € 10. The cancellation would be made at the same time of the call and as soon as he arrived in Spain, he would have to call 609 again and request the discharge again, which they would give at the moment, in a matter of a couple of minutes he would have connected again the data service.

I am considering this possibility to avoid surprises in the next bill ...

Has anyone done this? Has anyone traveled using this temporary leave service?

    Greetings to all.

Hmm ... since I went into a contract with movistar, my international calls, from here, from Spain abroad, they are not deducted from the minimum consumption of my bill ... it may be because of the savings module (rate together) but not I know why I asked the customer service girl and she told me that they never counted international calls within the minimum consumption of the contract and I asked her if she did some type of contract and she said no ... so I don't know ... it's the worst thing that I see and more that nothing happens to me to contract to call out = _ =

Hello everyone, this is crazy, I have called moviestar about 10 times because I wanted to know the rates for calls from France to Spain and vice versa and nobody has given me the same prices, it is sad, in the end I have come across one that I have asked you to inform me of the daily rate in Europe and he is the only one who knew something else and I have clarified myself. I put them here just in case you are interested. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< <<<<<<<<

Communications are going to be via the Internet in the very near future.
It offers a very good quality product at an extremely competitive price. A challenge.
