Audiobooks moves to iBooks with iOS 8.4

Last minute last night and again without warning Apple released iOS 8.4 Beta where the main novelty is the Music application, which has been completely renewed and includes a mini-player and an integrated search engine. But not only are there the news, at least aesthetic of the new beta of iOS 8.4, at the moment only available for developers.

As we have been able to verify, within the new Music application, in addition to the aesthetic renovation, it has led to the disappearance of the Audiobooks section, which with this new update will be found within the iBooks application, a more logical place to gather in a single application everything related to books.

From now on every time we buy or add an audiobook to our device, be it iPhone or iPad, with iOS 8.4 we will have to go to the iBooks application. Inside iBooks we will have to look for the icon of a headphones to be able to differentiate the audiobooks from the normal books, a quick way to locate the audio books with the naked eye.

When clicking on an audiobook, as with normal books, it will automatically move to where we left it and we can slide our finger to the right or left if we want to go back or forward on the content that is being played, just like it happens with podcasts. If we slide our finger continuously, the playback will advance automatically until we release the finger. Inside the settings we can set the jump time each time we press on the buttons intended for the purpose: 10, 15, 30, 45 or 60 seconds.

As I have commented above, Apple's decision is the smartest since the audiobooks should be available from the beginning within the iBooks application. Finding the audiobooks within the Music application is not at all intuitive or easy to locate.
