A few months ago, WhatsApp introduced a new feature that was not very welcome. It is about the function that mark the dates in blue so that we can add them as an event in the iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad calendar. The worst of all is that this novelty cannot be deactivated and in a chat application we can have the entire screen full of blue text. This function is also available in other native iOS applications, such as Mail. Luckily if you find it annoying, in Email yes it can be disabled.
The problem is that this kind of smart feature is not so smart until very advanced versions. For example, I think it's good that you propose to add as an event a text that says "I'll see you on Friday at 9 o'clock", but I don't see it necessary to mark me in blue every time someone writes us "Tomorrow". If, as in WhatsApp, you find it annoying to see the dates in blue in Mail, we will show you how disable function after cutting.
How to avoid blue dates in Mail for iOS
- We open the settings of our iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.
- We look for the option Mail, contacts, calend. and we played on it.
- In the next section, we scroll down to the CALENDARS option and disconnect the option Events found in Mail.
Logically, if the option is useful to you, it is best to leave it activated. In any case, I think this function still has a lot to improve. For example, you could better understand the context of the conversation so that it would automatically add the subject of the event, something that in the example above could be "appointment with X contact on Friday at 9:00". Until the time comes and this is perfected, if you don't receive many appointments by email, it may be better to disable the Events found in Mail option.
