At the end of 2013 and like every year, Apple published which were the best applications of the year. Of all the games that the developers uploaded, the winner was Badland, that furry ball with wings that, surprisingly, manages to fly, although not very lightly. It also has the power to change its size, allowing it to go through very small tunnels. A long time has passed since then but Badland 2 has arrived on the App Store And the wait has been worth it.
The handcrafted graphics, the traps throughout the course, original puzzles and obstacles were the ingredients of a recipe that led the game developer Frogmind to win this award. Now, two years after winning the award, comes this second part that includes new elements, like liquids, flamethrowers, ice, magma, water, and volumetric burning lights, all to include enough differences so that we feel like we're playing the same game and, at the same time, something totally new.
The great thing about Badland 2 is that you can challenge friends and strangers in global online events that are constantly updated, something that we also see in other games, such as some FPS or car games. In this case, what we have to do is compete against their "ghosts", which are a blurred image of the path that our rival followed and in the time that it did.
Frogmind also promises that there will be constant levels and updates in campaign mode, which is always appreciated, especially if we are compulsive gamblers who fall short of a few levels. The updates will be free, but the game is not (hopefully). Badland 2 has a price of € 4,99, which I consider to be an average price and therefore not an expensive price if we consider that it is the sequel to a game that has won the award for best game of the year. And, if you liked the first part, Badland 2 will enchant you.
