Sleep monitoring has become one of the hottest health tools in recent times. Scientific studies support that a good sleep is essential to have a good performance during the day, in addition to helping to improve our health. And within this fashion, wearables, those devices that we always wear, have become a fundamental piece for this. There are numerous applications that help to monitor our sleep, or that at least promise that, but the limitations of those small devices that we wear on our wrist prevent those measurements that are made from becoming really useful in most cases. Beddit, however, promises to achieve this thanks to the fact that its sensor is not in any wearable, but you have it placed on the bed, but in turn uses the sensors of our Apple Watch to expand the information.
Beddit has applications for iPhone and Apple Watch, the latter adapted to watchOS 2 so being native it has access to the sensors of our watch. The crown can be used to scroll through the application menus, and you can access data collected by heart rate and motion sensors. But how to get reliable measurements if the watch has to be charged at night? Thanks to the fact that Beddit's main sensor is located just below us when we sleep, under the covers.
Our watch will monitor our daily activity, collect data when we take a short nap after eating, and transfer that data to the Health app, with which Beddit is fully compatible. At night we can leave the Apple Watch on charge and the sensor located under the sheets will do the rest of the work. Beddit is now sold in its official store for €149 and its applications are available for iPhone and Apple Watch completely free of charge.
