Beware of the scam that appears in Safari

A new scam has been discovered affecting iOS devices via Safari. This scam displays a system alert and urges users to call a supposedly toll-free number to solve the problem that your device claims to have. Through that call they get enough data to compromise your privacy to varying degrees, so you must have a thousand and one eyes on it and not be fooled. This is all you need to know in order not to fall for this simple scam and thus avoid possible problems as a result.

So far this scam attempt is only taking place on devices in the United States and United Kingdom, but we do not know when it will cross those borders. The website calls itself "i-phone-support.com" and the misuse of English is quite evident, so it should be a clear indication of a scam, but less expert users may be tempted and compromise their privacy. Once the call is made, the user is asked a variable amount to solve the supposed problem of his device.

However, the problem is quite simple to avoid, we will simply go to the settings menu, scroll to the Safari section and activate the "lock windows" switch. This way we will avoid the different advertising windows that invade our screen depending on which websites. However, if it is too late and more than once the happy window has appeared, you can solve it by activating the airplane mode and later deleting the history and data of Safari websites in the same settings menu that we mentioned above. Once this is done, we just completely close Safari from the multitasking menu and voila, the problem is over.

It is not the first time that a similar type of scam has been carried out on iOS devices, as it has already happened in the past through the Mail application, always with the purpose of obtaining the private and access data of the users. We are sure that Apple will not take long to solve the problem as soon as it becomes aware of it.

I did the survey and in the next step I put the card. I hope I have no problems.
