Boon is already compatible in Spain to use with Apple Pay

And it is that a few hours ago we released the news about an official statement from the German bank N26 with its compatibility with Apple Pay in Spain by the end of the year, and now we can communicate that Boon, get compliant today with this payment method for us.

In short, it is something important for all those users who have not wanted to use the rest of the options available in our country for one reason or another. With the compatibility of Boon in Apple Pay, a few barriers are opened for users who were waiting for their banks to become compatible with this payment service and who are still waiting. This is one more option to start using Apple Pay on our iPhone, Apple Watch or Mac.

What exactly is Boon?

Boon, is a kind of PayPal with which the user can easily add a virtual card to the iPhone and make payments using this fast and secure Apple payment method. Boon is today compatible with iPhone SE, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 7 and 7 Plus plus Apple Watch. With this official statement, Wirecard announced the arrival of the service for Spain.

We have it available right now and we can use it in just a few minutes after registering. In this case, what we have to be clear about is that we will have the service free of charge for one year, once this first year has passed pay 0,99 euros per month although we can cancel the service before the year passes.

How Boon works

Well, it's simple. Once the registration is completed from the official website, the service acts as a payment gateway or virtual debit card and we will simply have to add money to our Boon account to be able to make payments using Apple Pay.

This registration does not require a new account or card registration or data from our bankWe will use our bank account to transfer money to Boon or recharge using our debit card. In the case of using the card, the deposit in our Boon account will be faster but they will charge us a 1% commission, if we use the bank transfer method they will not charge us anything but it takes a little longer. In the case of make payments outside the countries of the European Union They will charge us a commission of 1,25% euros on the amount of the purchase.

There are two options BASIC and PLUSIn this table you will find the differences between the two and this is basically in the amounts that we can enter, etc:

For now this is a good option to have Apple Pay today and we hope that little by little the other banks and especially the larger ones will begin to offer this product to their clients.

App downloaded, registered, charged 20 euros per debit card (0 EUR commission) and tested in the carrefour under my house. All perfect. They just won a client for the next few months. 😉

To add something that I do not like, small detail: I do not like that when leaving the app there is no way to configure it so that when you return it asks you for your password or fingerprint (for security), unless you log out -through two steps- and When you return you have to enter a password plus a code that comes to you by SMS.

I have been looking at the legal issues and it says that € 1,25 is still charged for payments outside the UK, I have a doubt they are still charging you for adding money to the boon account.? That was not clear to me.

Yesterday I signed up and charged €20 with my debit card and at the moment and barring surprises (since it is a service similar to Paypal that takes 3-4 days to make the charges) they have not charged commissions! Simple setup on both iPhone and Apple Watch! Looking forward to trying it! Greetings and thanks actualidadiphone for updating us on the Apple world!

    Cool,

Thank you for sharing your experience, it is important for all users!

The issue is that you have to be aware of whether or not they charge that commission for loading the card since the regulations make it very clear. It may be that they charge it later or even at the end of the month but you have to be aware of it so as not to be surprised!

Greetings and enjoy Apple Pay !!

Hello, it says 1,25% but it does not apply in the EURO zone.
I, the same as Jordy, charged € 20 by debit card and neither bank did not charge me anything and they for now neither (they talk about 1% with credit but they don't say anything about debit ... maybe they don't charge with debit and that would be wonderful). I also made a transfer of € 10 to test (there I saw that the IBAN and bank, it is an AG company, it is German although the company is based in the UK) and for the moment ok.
In addition, yesterday I bought something for € 1,15 in Carrefour and he discounted exactly that amount.
So far no added cost. We will continue to observe. 😉

Tested and working perfectly with my iPhone and Apple Watch ... comment that it is a Mastercard so you can pay anywhere: yesterday I bought pastries in a bakery and today the aperitif in a bar. We will be pending on the commissions for charging with a debit card, but until I can do it with my entity I do not see it expensive. Greetings

Tested and working perfectly with both iPhone and Watch! Remember that it is a contactless Mastercard® so you can make payments anywhere: yesterday in a bakery and this noon vermouth in a bar! Regarding commissions at the moment, no debit card charges but we will continue to be alert! Until my financial institution does not have it for the moment, the best option because of how simple and fast it has been! Likewise, the commissions are not exaggerated and I plan to continue using it! Greetings
