Browser Changer, change the default iOS browser (Cydia)

browser changer

The internet browser is probably the application we use the most on any of our mobile devices, whatever the brand, and it allows us many things apart from the mere fact of browsing the internet. In iOS, the default browser is Safari, a browser that has been updated with the iOS versions and has been greatly improved. It allows us to synchronize all our iDevices and it is quite fast.

The bad thing is there are many other browsers that work on iOS and with great built-in functions. One of them is the famous Google Chrome which has just added the functionality of compressing our data to save us some of the transfer that we have contracted with our operator. Do you want Google Chrome to be the default browser for iOS? Browser Changer is the solution ...

Browser Changer settings

We are talking about a Cydia tweak, that is, you will need to have the jailbreak done on your deviceOtherwise, it is not possible to change the Safari preference on iOS. The truth is that this could be added by Apple, but as Google will never do it, it has already put its cards on the table by making links between all its iOS applications so that you can jump between their applications by pressing certain buttons (something for which the jailbreak is not necessary) .

If what you want is total freedom to choose between one and the other, you have to install Browser Changer, a tweak that you will have available in the BigBoss repo and that works perfectly on iOS 7 (including the iPhone 5s and the iPad Air / Mini). In addition, you can get it completely free of charge.

Once the tweak is installed, you will find a new section in the 'Settings' menu. In the Browser Changer menu you can enable the tweak in general, enable the browser switch, or even make the Google Maps app your default Maps app, something that from my point of view is no longer necessary because Apple Maps already works quite well.

Among the browsers that you can choose you have: Google Chrome, 360 Browse, Atomic, Coast, Dolphin, iCab, Opera Mini, Mercury, Skyfire, or Yahoo! Axis among many others. By selecting one of these browsers, when you press the 'open in Safari' button of any application, the new default browser will open.

A tweak that we recommend, and that you can also try for free.
