When you subscribe to a podcast, you can decide if you want to automatically include all its episodes in the playback queue, or if you prefer to have them in your inbox waiting for you to decide whether or not you want them to download and go to your playback queue. You can also subscribe to a podcast but it doesn't even go to your inbox, it stays as archived and you manually search for the episode you want to listen to. Well, all this that you can configure by means of rules so that it is done automatically now you will also have it within reach of your Apple Watch and your iPhone through notifications.
So even if you have established automatic rules, you can skip them if you wish when you receive a notification.
