For the iPad version, the game was equipped with a higher resolution and new functions that make optimal use of the extended possibilities of the equipment: The new horizontal screen offers with its freely sliding windows at all times a complete view of what is happening in the game.

In the new version of Catan for iPad, three to four people will be able to play, just like in the board game. Following the classic game of rules here you will also have to compete for the most towns, the longest road and the greatest power of the knights, negotiate with each other and appropriate the valuable field with its raw materials.

And if none of the players are present, the game offers you a worthy competition with different Catanians: the pirate Jean, who knows no compromises, the merchant Vicente, who is not fooled, the knight Siegfried, who takes what he is entitled to. ...

The game allows "settlers" on a hexagonal island to build a civilization over time. The version developed for the iPad in collaboration with Catan creator Klaus Teuber features the original board game options, along with full game statistics, a Catan almanac, and a tutorial.

The new Catan HD application is a separate application from the Catan version that was designed for the iPhone and iPod Touch, although thanks to the larger screen of the iPad it means that its interface looks more like the Catan board game than the one. iPhone version that is smaller.
