iOS 12 has brought us a new way to manage the time of use of our devices, but it has also added many more tools to parents who want their children to use Apple devices (iPhone and iPad) properly.
In Family and Airtime they allow parents to set limits to applications by categories. For example, limit the use of social media apps to one hour a day, or play games to 2 hours a day.
Of course, the new generations come strong and they have not taunted in finding the way to bypass the restrictions imposed by parents.
The simplest is change iPhone time to one prior to restrictions. An old trick that has worked to circumvent games and their restrictions, and that we did not expect from Apple. Although it is to be expected that Apple will fix this in a future update as they lose all sense of being the restrictions if this is allowed.
The other way to bypass the restrictions is downloading an app or game that was not installed, but that has been previously installed. Obviously, the child must have permission to install previously purchased or downloaded apps. After this, the app has no usage limit. Of course, we must be careful to eliminate the game before it starts counting the usage time of the next day again.
Many parents are aware that their children know or will know more about technology than they do and it will become increasingly difficult to monitor and make you use your connected devices responsibly. Apple tries to help parents with these measures, but it is true that it does not replace the father's eye, so we must always be vigilant.
In these cases, to prevent our children from enjoying these tricks, we must always update to the latest version of iOS 12 (on both devices) and limit the installation of apps by children.
