Google has launched a new tool in the App Store, its name is Chrome Remote Desktop and stands out for offering us the possibility of managing our computer, whether it is a Mac or a Windows PC, from the iPhone or iPad.
It really is not an application that contributes anything that we have not seen before. Any VNC client allows you to do something similar, but what abouthow Chrome Remote Desktop works? Let's see it.
The first thing we have to do is download the iOS version of Chrome Remote Desktop. Now it is the turn to install Chrome Remote Desktop on our computer, something that forces us to have the Google browser installed. Once both utilities are installed, we just have to give the necessary permissions to enable the use of remote assistance from the computer and that's it.
On the iPhone or iPad, Chrome Remote Desktop will ask us for the password that we have set to the computer we want to connect to, so once it is entered, we will have remote access to it. This will allow us have full control over the computer, that is, we can move the mouse cursor, type with the keyboard, run applications, whatever we want.
There is also the possibility of control computers that are not within our network. This is especially useful to solve a problem that has appeared to a family member or member of the work, so we can fix it without being physically present in the place where the computer is located.
As you can see, Chrome Remote Desktop works exactly like any other VNC client. Perhaps its implementation could be considered somewhat simpler for less experienced users but in the end, the result we achieve is similar to other applications of the genre.
By the way, I forgot to mention that the performance of these types of applications it depends a lot on the quality of our connection to the Internet, therefore, I recommend you always use it under WiFi to obtain the greatest possible fluency.
