The icons of iOS 7 is one of the points that has unleashed the most controversy in the networks due to its new aesthetic characterized by a flat design and very vivid colors, abandoning the realistic design that they have had for years.
As for my personal opinion, I like the new iOS 7 icons a lot, although there are some that do not quite convince me, such as Settings or Safari. It is clear that Jony Ive has taken the simplicity of the iOS 7 interface to the extreme. As a result, there are clients who are very satisfied with the change and others not so much, although in general the opinions are good.
Although there is still a chance that some icons will get a slight tweak, the vast majority sure that they already have their appearance set for everything that is to come with iOS 7.
If you want to know the differences between all the native icons of iOS 6 and the same but in iOS 7Below you have a comparison in which you can see all the modifications perfectly.
¿What icons do you prefer?? Which ones do you like the most and which ones do you least?

I like Music, Appstore, iTunes and Mail, the ones I don't like are Game Center and Photos, the rest are good too

I don't like mail, music, photos, facetime, safari, game center, maps, compasses, app store
I always loved icons, I still like the old ones more and I doubt that there is a moment that in comparison I prefer the new ones. But, I understand that if you want to change the entire interface this is part of it and the change seems fine to me. They're cute anyway, and the change doesn't affect me that much. It will be a matter of getting used to it, it is logical that after 5 years seeing them the change has crashed.
PS: Just as a comment, I was amused in the post that they were presented for the first time yesterday that 50 people appeared saying that they were never going to buy an iPhone just for this, a bit exaggerated in my opinion.
I agree with you,
I think that flat icons, even though they are not as attractive as the previous ones, consume less graphics and therefore I think that the system will be more fluid.
I am another one of those. I've been testing iOS 7 since yesterday, and I stick with the design of the icons and add to the Control Center (total androyero). But it is also true, as you comment below, that iOS 7 is not only the icons. That is where my opinion is completely opposite. I think it is an outstanding evolution and many aspects. If it weren't for this new design (not for minimalism, but because I think it's a bad design), I would give iOS 7 a resounding A.

The music one and the mail one were cooler before
The music one and the mail one were cooler before
The new ones of course! I already needed a change .. And the new icons are more alive and more beautiful .. The old ones were tired.
All the new ones are bad, but the photos, reminders, Game Center, settings and calendar give a new meaning to the word horrible.
Sorry, but how is the settings? (Or flat out I'm blind hehe).
And well, they do not make me so bad, but, sooo simplified (almost like comparing the logo of windows 8 and that of win xp)
The settings does not appear in the post, but it is still horrible.
More HORRENDO than the one in Safari there is not. And I'm telling you outside the Apple universe. Always as a non-user (I am an Android and Windows user) I considered that they had a good aesthetic. Here they make it clear why a developer cannot act as a graphic designer.
The vast majority are a real shame, and yes, I am one of those who will not buy an iPhone / iPad again and my current devices (iPad 3 and iPhone 5) will stay on iOS 6.1.2 until they die due to lack of update .
It is one thing to renew the interface and even change some of the icons (as they did with the sound recorder in the past), and quite another to do what they have done. I understand that there are tastes for everything and that logically there will be people who are even happy with the change, but it is that some, if not most, of the icons seem designed by a child, we give the impression that they do not have any work behind And that they have done them in practically 5 minutes (I have designed icons and I know perfectly what I am talking about), look at Kiosk, Safari or Notes. This can be done by anyone in Windows Paint in 5 minutes without having any idea of design or the use of tools for it.
The change is so radical, so great, that many of us have been amazed. In my opinion, when something goes well, you cannot change it in such a radical way because many users will not understand or share it. What's more, the new iOS 7 is nothing more than a blatant copy of Android and Windows Phone put together. At least I want iOS, not Android, or Windows Phone.
From now on I will have to start studying other systems and devices for my next purchase, which although it is still a long way off I am clear that it will not be Apple. Yes, in Cydia there are themes that can change practically the entire system, and if you create one that does not depend on Winterboard (a real devourer of resources and battery), maybe I will think about it, but of course I will not see Apple as I saw it. up to now.
Do not get so bad, I understand that you do not like it but you will see that later you will accept them. As I said before, I still like the previous ones more, but it is a matter of adapting to change. In addition, IOS is not only the icons, it is the fluidity, knowing that nothing will ever fail, that the updates go to all the devices at the same time, that no external company changes the icons. In addition to the benefit of the appstore, of a cell phone that gives you an excellent size, a feeling of quality, a screen (retina) that no one surpasses.
As I said, if you want to go to another company, obviously you have all your rights, but my recommendation as a user like you is that you think about it more than once. Anyway, I am going to accept that the safari one is visually unpleasant, the notes one is certainly not a big deal and what I am going to miss the gamecenter one (for me the perfection of the design turned into an icon) has no name.
Exactly, that is what Apple thinks that we will ALL accept it and with me (I suppose that also with many more), they have punctured the bone. I understand that things have to be renewed but what they have done is not a renewal, it is a compendium of what their most direct rivals currently have, that is, they have blatantly copied them, destroying all the essence of iOS that was the distinction of all the rest. But it is that on top of that they have done it by simplifying the entire interface to unsuspected limits.
I've been seeing screenshots of the new look of some of the app's and it's like seeing Windows Phone, icons from the early days of Android, etc, etc. This is simple ... They have destroyed iOS, they have totally destroyed it and I am sorry but I am not going to follow them, I am not an applefan, I have had mobiles of all systems and manufacturers (except for Blackberry which will surely be my next acquisition) because I am not marrying anyone, I buy what I think is the best for me and when I used the iPhone for the first time I was in front of everything I wanted from a mobile in all aspects. This has been stolen from me with iOS 7 and I'm sorry I'm not going to follow them.
It is obvious that my kicking is not going to help me at all, there is nothing to do, I hope that when my iPhone 5 dies due to lack of updates there will be something on the market that fills me in the same way that the iPhone did until iOS 6 because what I am clear about is that Apple is not going to be.
I'm not going to write much more because otherwise we never finished, but I don't think they destroyed it, from my point of view they improved it. As I said before, IOS is not just the icons, but a lot of things for which you choose it. They were being asked for help and better multitasking and they gave it, as well as airplay (I think that was what they put to pass files, but correct me), a better camera and photo app, keychain. It is also its time, Apple copied the notification center (the one that is displayed by sliding your finger from top to bottom, as well as copy and paste, and I do not think it was a bad decision or that nobody has complained).
Also, you can't say "Apple does what it wants, doesn't listen and if you like it well and but also" when you're angry because it copied Android (the operating system that gives you all the freedom you like. I choose apple ( I repeat, ME, in my particular case) because I trust that what you are going to do is going to please me, but in case I feel tied hand and foot with your decisions I would go to Android where you can do what you want ( obviously with the cost of viruses, malware, lag, etc.), but it is in each one.
you go and fuck your mother with another system we don't need people like that with iOS
I have done what you think to do countless times change to android and I always end up with ios because because android brings out new and new and new things but they are always very unstable phones, I invite you to make a call from a galaxy s4 and with a iphone 5 see who makes the call faster in the galaxy s4 open the phone application and it takes a jet for it to open instead ios is instantaneous that kind of things I do not like about android instability and little support in terms of updates, change if You want to but you will remember that in 3 months you will be looking for a used iphone or you will be dying to buy the new iphone haha bye
I invite you to honestly imitate an icon in the paint as you say and upload it, let's put the Safari one, which according to you is very easy. It won't take more than five minutes so it's worth testing your arguments. Greetings.
What are you inviting me ???
Obviously I am not going to waste my time even if it is only 5 minutes in making such a mess. However, I am going to give you an example of what I was doing for a long time.

It is a theme for Symbian and 100% of the theme is created with vector images (.svg), which is much more complex than working with .png images, which is the type of images that Apple works with. What I want to tell you is that when I say what I say, I mean it knowingly. In any case, it has already been said that the icons in this beta are not even made by Apple's design department and that is why it is more than likely that these will change as new betas come out and especially in the final version. As you see, reason was not lacking.
Wow! … Well, yes, I liked them a lot. I'm not one of those people who went around scrubbing and scrubbing with which I wanted changes, although I did think they were missing some new type of retouch or something.
The photo is very…. Weird .. And pf !! The one that I will not even recognize the first days is going to be the Game Center!
And, the Safari one, if I didn't like it, it gives the feeling that something is missing, or I don't know ...
And all the others seem excellent and very vivid in colors.
Windows phone? jajajajajajaja utaaaa if the same as Windows phone 8 the same, to say stupid things as they abound
Windows phone? jajajajajajaja utaaaa if the same as Windows phone 8 the same, to say stupid things as they abound
Also, why do they give it so much publicity if there is a lot missing until this one !!.

But what a fool you are !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was: Eliminate skeumorphism in part, to open the door to minimalism. With respect to the others who say that they will not return to iOS and that the icons seem made by non-professionals. It's a lie, that's minimalism in a big way, and unfortunately I don't like minimalism so much, but I accept and I'm amazed at the work they did. Alright Apple!
I will not update better XD
I will not update better XD
I like them, for those who don't just wait for the jailbreak and change the theme with winterboard. Developers who create an ios6 theme will surely not be lacking, although Apple might better offer the option of using the classic icons.
Winterboard is a devourer of resources and battery, for me it is not an option. Regarding your last sentence, Apple could offer the option of using the classic icons…. Ha ha ha, Apple does what it wants, it doesn't listen and if you like it well and but also, that's why I say that the iPhone 5 has been my last Apple device and iOS 6.1.2 my last system update .
You are like the child who throws away his toy because the one he was given is the x2000 when he was expecting the x2001 just because the x2001 has a new hat.
Stop screaming shit
It seems like a backlog to me, I want an iPhone not a damn Galaxy, Jony Ive would have to dedicate himself to product design and leave graphics to graphic artists.
I don't think I will upgrade to 7 because of the damn icons.
How ugly they are xD
you're right!
Hahaha, don't upgrade an OS for looks ... People's ignorance.
The ignorant will be you, I believe that I have much more experience than you in the matter of iphone, I was one of the first 10 in Spain to have an iphone, bought the same week that 2g came out in the USA, more than 500 have passed through my hands iphone of all models, I am registered as a developer in ios, I have the ios7 on and I know what I'm talking smartass.
The new ios7 is a step back in graphics not working.
I prefer ios 6.1.2 with JB
Wow it must have been a great achievement for your life to be the top 500, too bad that even knowing Apple for years you don't know how they work.
Ignorance? Does the skinny have another taste seems ignorance to you?
In counterpart to the changes of the incones in iOS, these modifications have not yet reached the iCloud website, you can see for yourself where skeumorphism is still present in the purest iOS 6 style. What I mean by this is that the change did not have or you have not had an invitation for iCloud!

I think it will take some getting used to but I will certainly update.
I think it will take some getting used to but I will certainly update.
I do not think about the icons, but yesterday I installed ios 7 and it is going very well and the battery lasts almost twice as long, so I spend very little battery and that updates the apps automatically, the next iPhone 5s will say that it lasts the stack 48 hours or 80 in music or so is going to be a good thing, but it's because of the new ios
But how lucky are you! IOS 7 won't be out until September and you installed it yesterday! What a barbarian!
Hello friend, if I downloaded it from here http: // registraudid.blogspot.mx what I did was pay to register the udid too, but I installed it and up to 24 hours later they registered it, but I had already installed it, so really It is not necessary to register the udid, it is false that it is necessary, you only have to have the 6.1.4 version of the ios and give it to update, not to restore, so without registering the udid you can install it and download it from that page that happens to you
It is not necessary when you update but to do a restoration if necessary if you want the iphone clean from the factory with ios 7 if it is necessary to register the udid a greeting
Thanks, with some I didn't even notice!
my question surely no one ever thought about it, because the clock icon marks that time?
If you mean the new iOS7; as it is a «widget» it changes according to the time, something like the «Clockify» tweak.
And if you mean the one from before, it is the time that the first iPhone was presented, or something like that, come on, it has its meaning, I'm not entirely sure what that was.
Those of iOS 6 are better
Those of iOS 6 are better
Much prettier those of iOS 6 but will have to adapt or change
The only thing I don't like about iOS7 .. They're horrible.
The one with maps no longer gives you a route to suicide, interesting…. by the way do the maps work or just its icon?
For now the pile was consumed flying
The truth is that I like the icons that we currently have much more than the new ones, because there are some that are HORRIBLE (see Safari or Game Center) but there are others like videos, or the time that at least have a pass, although like everything , it will just be a matter of getting used to ...
it's crap it looks like children
I have been with iPhone for 4 years and the truth is, if the change was needed, most who complain are new to the matter, that is why they are dissatisfied and it is because they barely know the system, I definitely stay with those of iOS 7, by the way I am testing it on an iPod touch 5gen and it goes great! Greetings!
They are very ugly not the following !!! Fuck what a shame !! With all the good impression of everything, the iOS 7 and they have screwed up with all the icons, since my iPhone 5 now looks like a "toy", look at it, it looks like a plastic iPhone, the kind that my 3-year-old nephew uses years!! It's a great shame, the safest thing is to take the iOS 6 icons, take a screenshot of them one by one and paste them on top of the iPhone screen hahahaha, a big hello.
PS: For everything else, iOS 7 has already removed me from the Jailbreak, it is the best except icons hehe
Guys, do you know if the automatic updates can be disabled if you want? Because I like to see what is new before updating them
I hope that in autumn the icons of the rest of the applications will be assimilated a little more to the new style «designed in California», therefore a new starting point (...)
I like it, but if skeumorphism is what I think it is, they have not abandoned it at all, it is still the main characteristic of evolution, but we are quite the same, now the icons are simpler and flat but nothing more Like the applications if they are redone (redone) but the icons are not or not?
There is still no theme for Winterboard with the new icons, right? I don't want to update until it officially comes out and I'm not convinced by these icons, but that's where we're going so it's better to get used to it
I think like a surfer, something different (…)
I do not have jailbreak in my idevice why I do not see it necessary, now I see it necessary just to install winterboard and remove those horrible icons.
It looks like a toy system, a Windows phone half way through.

I had high expectations of what Apple could do in terms of UI in its version of iOS, but I was honestly disappointed by the icons.
I believe in Flat Design as a trend since it is easier to interpret. Here we see icons with hyper saturated colors (not to mention if we put high brightness on our device), inconsistency between figures (some have straight ends and others are rather curved) and inconsistency between effects (some icons have shadow, others that require it, do not present it).
I risk saying that it is done in a hurry and due attention has not been paid. Another big mistake seems to me to continue using the squares with rounded edges as a background, if I wanted to take a qualitative leap, the icons should be more independent figures. Note that the style of the Game Center icon is not related to that of Safari, they seem designed by totally different people, without having a common criteria.
Disappointed.
I insist, simplicity and minimalism are my fascination but here it is not applied in a homogeneous, careful and subtle way, rather it is heterogeneous, aggressive and inconsistent. Apple, I hope you hear us. Greetings to all the community, it is the first time that I write here. Greetings!
I fully agree with your opinion. I am also puzzled, because if there is something I believed that Apple would never fail, it would be in the design of its products (both soft and hard).
Personally, the design itself is very childish, but I think that more than anything they did it thinking about the new iphone that will come out in September, it may be that a 3d or 4k iphone will come and that is why this type of animated interface is what but it stands out more with this type of colors that they put in the interface and icons well it is just a thought I do not know what you think, the keyboard to make calls is very ugly in my opinion good greetings
Bitch that ugly icons. They seem designed in a kindergarten. No way, not everything was going to go well for Mr. IVE
Honestly, my first impression was not entirely encouraging. I quite agree with the user 'aarancon' without a doubt the icons are a replica of the Android and Windows phone style, which I do not understand because Apple's systems always had their own philosophy, I try to find the return to the design but I do not understand it ...: S they really look like they were made in Paint by a child.
I don't know if Jobs would have approved this kind of 'stuff'.
Steve don't be mad at jony for this. He is a great designer in the industrial area: /
The ones I like the least: reminders, contacts, notes and game center !!!! Come on, are you serious ?! This completely escapes the iconic style of iOS !! Please let us be honest. It will take me a long time to get used to those few colors and, above all, so saturated. No offense, it makes him look very gay a lot of pink…: S
I just hallucinate with some comments: the icons are those icons, you may like them or not (we all have an opinion) but from there to start and stay in that this facelift to iOS is only a problem of icons is too much. I have installed iOS 7, and what I have stopped at least is whether the icons are or are not
Winterboard–> Themes–>
already run 🙂
Hello, well I have to say that I am testing the IOS7 and apart from the fact that I like the icons more or less, the system works quite well and I think that in the end that is what matters, we will get tired of these icons and any other for very Great that it is and in the end the functionality is what counts. Anyway, I agree that they could have worked on it a little more ... but ... we must not forget that it is still a BETA, maybe they will surprise us with the final program, let's not forget that Apple always keeps something. All the best
Applemaniacos !!! run to install iOS 7 so you can enjoy
of all the advantages that Android users have does
time already hahahahahahaha
You're right. In one day it has already hit me several times, and several applications have crashed. As it continues like this, I will end up in WP8.
I do not particularly like the new icons, they seem taken from power point.
I mean the time on the iOS6 icon, since you mention the widget, this iOS is going to consume a lot of battery
It was so easy to implement the themes and for everyone to put the ones they want from the appstore. Of the rest of the functions they seem very good to me, but I do agree with many that the icons of ios 6 were the best, I love the game center, very real, you can almost feel the texture. Other changes that have been made in the design have been for the better, but the icons ... well, I think that if other aspects and ways of interacting with the UI change, they also had to change the icons to give more consistency to everything, but I repeat those of ios 6 the best for my taste; hence not to buy an iphone or ipad or ipod for the icons if it seems too much.
I would have liked that they allowed to pass files by bluetooth, those that do not have protection, photos or videos that you record with your phone and want to pass it on to a friend for example.
Well, honestly, the radical change of Apple to redesign the icons, changing the old design left me a bad taste in my mouth, the flat and simple style does not fit in all equipment and systems, I will also keep ios6 for me »In my opinion »I have used other OS such as Android and Windows Phone, but ios 6 far exceeded them both visually and in operation and performance, when trying to innovate everything changed suddenly and in my opinion it was not quite right, although some functions such as Rotating the image while rotating the iPhone is very tempting, not all the new functions were totally successful.
**** IT IS JUST MY OPINION 🙂 MANY PEOPLE LIKE THE NEW CHANGE, BUT PERSONALLY THE BEST OF APPLE WAS NOT MADE TO ME AT THE MOMENT »
A round of applause for Craig Federighi, the one who integrated all the new functions to iOS from AirDrop to the control center, but with respect to jony ive, designer of the worst icons ever seen and an interface that makes an iPhone look like a toy, enough with say they should have just left it to hardware design.
The new icons are the new "Apple maps" in iOS 7.
I liked the icons from before, skeumorphism or whatever it's called. In my opinion Apple has taken a step back when it comes to design, creating a childish and "cheap" design. I think that iOS7 is not up to the iPhone at the moment. And I think that the people who say they like it more than iOS6 are because of the new functions it brings (Control Center, new transitions, etc.), functions by the way, that arrive with a long delay and that we can find them in Cydia from years ago and with better design. It is no wonder that Apple's shares have fallen from yesterday to today, and they have fallen little ...
The only ones I like are the camera, contacts and safari
I stay with the 0s 7
I want to die I'm using ios 7 and it's horrible
