Ehhmm it seems to me that the tutorial is not very clear at all, one step is missing, I have already been testing it but it gives me an error ...

I remind you that an exchange account and a hotmail account are not the same

I have done the steps and it works for me.
I have sent an email to my iPhone 4, and it reached me in ... 10 seconds.
    Works.

Well, the push balloon does not come out for me, it only comes out if I open the application, that is, as before… how do I configure it? I have everything in push.

  14.   amacueca said

Also it gave me an error but only where it says domain do not put anything and it works perfect with hotmail it does not matter that it is not exchange hopefully and it will serve you

  15.   XBoSS said

Every 30sec it asks for my password

  16.   Angel said

In user you must enter the full email address so that it does not ask for a password

  17.   XBoSS said

I changed my region configuration in my account, to USA, it is not going to be that only the service for gringos is active, I will try in a few minutes to see what happens

  18.   Alberto said

in my 3g after following the tutorial and putting the domain field blank, it asks for the password all the time and it gives an error. do you know why is it ??? Thank you

  19.   odalie said

It works perfectly!! All right the first time, all you have to do is follow the steps in this post.

  20.   XBoSS said

    Ready, working
As you suspect it is only active for American accounts, you must change, via PC, the region of your hotmail account, and put it USA, save changes and after half an hour, configure your mail on iPhone as indicated in the tutorial, make sure you have deactivated before to configure the account in iPhone the push mail option, after configured they activate it

    Tk

  21.   monlli said

And to receive the notifications, it is enough to activate the Push box of the mail or also have the notifications of the notifications box active?
If I have a normal hotmail account (not exchange), do I delete it?
    Thank you

  22.   Olive42 said

I did as Angel says, in username put the full address

What many say happens to me, that it asks me for the password all the time.

  27.   dogacar said

It has bugs, if you have your own folders created by you, it does not read the emails that you have inside them.

  28.   Anxoka said

The key has been to put the full address in user.
If it is not put, it does not synchronize.
    Thank you!

Well, I with Vodafone Iphone 4, and Firmware 4.01 with Jailbreak, I have followed everything to the letter, and the PUSH does not work for me ... if I get into the inbox I see the messages perfectly as I did before, and if I send myself an email, it does not notify me at the moment, but I have to go manually to the inbox to see it ... as I did before with my Hotmail account ...

I do not know what the hell it can be, if when creating the account it verifies it and tells me that it is correct, and in fact it lets me send and receive emails, but it does not notify me instantly, both by activating and deactivating the PUSH tab ….

    Salu2

Guys, I tell you that I tried to do it yesterday and as many of you comment, I asked for the password over and over again saying that it was incorrect. To my surprise, after a few minutes I received an email from the Hotmail team that I put in full:

    Hello, XXX:
To get Hotmail anywhere, you recently tried to set up a service called ActiveSync from your mobile device.
We love seeing your interest, but we had so many subscriptions that we had to temporarily stop accepting new ones.
We are constantly making improvements and should be able to accept new applications fairly soon. Check out the following website in about two weeks to see what's happening: http://windowslivehelp.com/solutions.aspx?categoryid=699b2703-2b62-4a92-86f2-9d5d52cc477d.
Thanks again for using Hotmail. We are very sorry for the delay.
    Greetings,
    The Hotmail team

The truth left me quite KO, that is, they did not have so many subscriptions ??? Do they stop accepting them temporarily ??? They will "soon", "check the web in about two weeks" ???

The truth guys this seems like a Microsoft TIMO! You will tell me ...

PS: Well, and if you already enter the section "Windows Live Active Sync - Known Inconveniences" you will already freak out with all the problems it has.

  34.   Daniel said

Well guys, I tell you that I tried again today and it works (or so it seems), so I still do not understand the email that the Hotmail team sent me !!! Oh well…

  35.   monlli said

I tried 3 times yesterday with errors in the password and I received the same email. This morning I was able to do it without problems

  36.   Amazing said

How is this different from what is on the iPhone? Let me explain, if you go to settings> Mail you get data, if you click there you get push. If you activate it, it is not the same as what this tutorial says or is there any more difference? Another different thing is that you configure it so that every minute it looks for new emails, I have that in manual to do it when it enters. But as for the push that can be activated as I said before ...

  37.   gnzl said

The push only works if your mail server offers it, before it did not offer it, now it does
It doesn't matter how you had it configured.

Push is not to check every minute, it is that a server sends you a notice when you receive an email
If I checked every minute, the battery would last 25 minutes.

  38.   vicente said

I suppose that when you activate the push, and every time you receive an email I will notify you at the moment, it will consume more battery?

  39.   vicente said

By the way, you can't see the emails that have already been opened, does someone happen to you? You can only see the new ones that have come to me, and the folders that I have created in my hotmail account don't synchronize, does anyone have these problems ???

  40.   Marian said

BOYS WALK BARBARO, FOR THOSE WHO HAVE 3G, IN USER PUT YOUR FULL ADDRESS AND YOU WILL BE WONDERFUL, THANKS AND GREETINGS.

  41.   suzubandit said

Hello, a question… It only warns me with a sound that I have received an email, but no notice appears on the screen (well, if I don't hear the email beep, I don't even know about it).

And the question is: shouldn't the new email appear on the screen like SMS do? Or does it just warn you with a sound?

I have Iphone 4 from Vodafone Spain, with Jailbreak and Firmware 4.01.

    Thank you

  42.   odalie said

It only alerts you with a sound, the popups on the screen are for sms.

  43.   Luis said

Once the "Server" option appears, they write m.hotmail.com in that field, click "Next" and then mark the options they want to synchronize. Tested on an iPhone 3G….

  44.   Amazing said

    And what options are there?

  45.   alex said

It also only hinges me with sound, I do not get any "pop up" ... Did something appear on the screen, right? If you do not hear the beep you are forced to unlock to see if a new email has arrived ...

  46.   lokobox said

So that it does not ask for the password every 20 seconds, what you have to do is leave the box where it says "Domain" blank, so it will work correctly

  47.   George said

Now the messages are deleted in both mailboxes, that is, if I delete you on the iphone, will they be deleted in the hotmail inbox?

  48.   javi said

Hello everyone. I have configured it in a 3G (3.1.2) with Jailbreak and without push, and the mails arrive to me without problem, even when I erase them from the ipone they are erased in hotmail, something that did not happen before ...
I have the problem when sending from hotmail, I can't, I always get "there was an error sending ..." And it doesn't send them ... Before configuring it with exchange I had no problem, and the other three email accounts that I have too they continue to send them.
The domain I have left blank and I have put the server m.hotmail.com
If I activate the use of SSL, the junk mail folders, drafts and folders made by me will appear; if I deactivate it, I only get the inbox and the trash can. But none of them let me send emails. I have tried enabling push and disabling it, but nothing (when I installed the account the push was disabled)

Anyone else feels the same?? Any ideas? thanks to all

  49.   XBoSS said

I have noticed that the synchronization with the mail configured in this way consumes more battery ... before I had my account configured normally and selected the option to obtain the data every 15min ... the battery lasted 30 or more hours ...

After configuring it with exchange and selecting the option to obtain data every 15min, the battery only lasts about 20 hours

you are doing it wrong, where the user goes you must put your full email address, not just the user.
      regards

  54.   rbk_dj said

You have to put in the user field the username, with the domain, as john@hotmail.com and insist when it asks for the password

  55.   luis alberto said

Because after having carried out all the steps it is asking me for my password

I have my hotmail account set up on the iphone .. but it does not notify me when a new mail arrives .. I have to keep checking in to see if any mail has been left .. how can I do it to make it sound .. it is so of the push .. that says 15,30 or 1 hour or manual… .I don't understandoooooooooo .. help ..

    1.    Christian Fuentes said

The push is that when it is activated it checks if you have new emails in all the accounts that you have synchronized, I recommend you leave it in 15min, since this way the battery will last you sooooo much longer. surely you have it set to "manual", for eswo it checks you only when you enter ...
