Copic, view the photos of your contacts in iOS 7 (Cydia)

iOS 7 has brought many changes to the system of our iPhone, and that is why there are still many applications that despite being "classic" of the Jailbreak have not yet been updated to be compatible with iOS 7. Copic is one of those classics, and although not yet officially released for iOS 7, Yes, you can install the public Beta that is already available. Have the photos of our contacts visible in Contacts, Mail, Messages and other native applications in addition to the chat of WhatsApp it is already possible in iOS 7.

The first thing to do to be able to install this Beta is to add the official repo of the application, since the one available in Cydia is not valid for iOS 7. We go to Cydia> Manage> Sources and add «http://apt.iarrays.com/»(Without quotes) and inside we will find Copic. Once installed, it is configured from the System Settings, where we will find different options to view the photos of the contacts:

  • Contacts: activate photos within the Contacts app
  • Lock Screen: turn on photos in missed calls, messages and Twitter notifications on the lock screen
  • Mail: enable contact images in the Mail app
  • Messages: activate the images in the Messages application, both in the list of conversations and within each chat.
  • Notification Center: Activate the images in the Notification Center for missed calls, messages and Twitter
  • Phone: activate the images in the different sections of the Phone application (list of recent calls, contacts and voicemail)

Copic also has options for WhatsApp, which can also be activated from the same settings, and which include the possibility of adding images to the contact list (by default WhatsApp only shows them in favorites) and within conversations. This WhatsApp option presents some problems and you may see notifications from WhatsApp indicating that you are using unsupported Jailbreak plugins. At first they appeared a couple of times, but then they disappeared. If you find it annoying, you can disable this WhatsApp option.

We can finally have the photos of our contacts in the native iOS applications, something that incomprehensibly is taking a long time to officially add Apple. Remember that it is still a Beta and that it may have some flaws.
