One of the many options, often unknown, that the wonderful Garageband music creation App gives us is to create our own ringtones directly from our device.
Creating these tones is surprisingly easy, whether you are a virtuoso with music or not, Garageband gives you a series of facilities that will make creating your own ringtone a fun task. The best of all this is that during the process we can do without both the computer and iTunes.
Requirements
- Garageband: This Apple application is free on models purchased or registered after September 2014 (as well as the entire iWork suite). If you are not one of these lucky ones, you will have to buy it in the AppStore. At the end of the post you have the link to the AppStore.
- A compatible iDevice: iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
- Remember that the maximum of the tone created should be 45 seconds.
Procedure
- Open the Garageband app.
- Press the "+" button, select the instruments you want to use and let your imagination run wild in true Beethoven style.
- Don't forget to record your masterpiece. Press the red "rec" button to start and press it again to end the recording.
- Once your recording is complete, tap on the down arrow button in the upper left corner and select "My Songs."
- Choose the song you just created and click on the "share" button in the upper left corner and in the drop-down menu, tap on "ringtone".
- Name your work as you wish and press the "export" option in the upper right corner.
- Choose the option that best suits your needs from the three that it offers you.
With this we have already managed to have a totally personal and exclusive ringtone, and what is better, made by ourselves. You can change these tones whenever you want as well as select any of the options that it offers us, such as assigning them to a specific contact or setting them as a notification.
Don't forget that Garageband also take advantage of the device's mic so that we can use our voice as part of our personalized tone.
