Cydia Eraser, the new version of Cydia Impactor partly compatible with iOS 9

Cydia Eraser

Saurik never sleeps. Only 24 hours after Pangu released the Chinese version of its jailbreak, this version in collaboration with 25pp, the French developer and owner of Cydia has updated Cydia Impactor, a tweak that was released shortly after the iOS 8 jailbreak tools and that was not updated to include support for iOS 9. One of the new features is a simple name change and has now been renamed Cydia Eraser. The icon is also new.

Cydia Impactor was the best way to remove the jailbreak from our iOS device. Without a tool like this, users had to use others available in the Saurik alternative store, but these other tools did not clean as much as Cydia Impactor, a tweak that allowed us restore our iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad and leave it in the same version it was in, which allowed us to re-jailbreak it.

Cydia Eraser is not compatible with iOS 9.2-9.3.3

The other novelty included in the tool now called Cydia Eraser is partial compatibility with iOS 9. According to Saurik, Cydia Eraser will only be compatible with versions that had a "single-step OTA" available, which is not very clear what it is, but we know that it does not work, at least for the moment, with the versions of iOS for which the latest Pangu tool has been released, that is, the new version It will not work with devices that have an iOS version installed that is between iOS 9.2 and iOS 9.3.3.

The bad news, from a jailbreak point of view, is that Apple does not provide the necessary resources for this tool to work on the latest versions of iOS, so it is possible that Cydia Eraser will never work on the latest versions of the system Apple's mobile operating. If Saurik can't get his tool to work on the latest versions of iOS, the best options might be Ilex Rat o Semi-restore, although the second of these two tools is not yet supported.

a question is it compatible with IOS 9.0.2? since I have the jailbreak

Hi kYo. Saurik is not very clear on this, but says he has only included partial support for iOS 9.0. By not adding another X (which would be iOS 9.0.x), I think it is not compatible with iOS 9.0.2.

      A greeting.

It is not compatible, I did it with iOS 9.0.2 and it gives error 108 and remains there it does not advance any more, and when you restart it gets stuck in the apple, so I had to restore and put iOS 9.3…. A downturn the truth, they would have to say that it is not compatible with iOS 9 and that's it

Hello Nero! Cydia impactor is on iOS8 and Cydia is iOS9 but it doesn't work well as I heard! I stay with iOS8.4 with jailbreak and I tell you that it is the best jailbreak that has ever existed and I am not going to upload it to iOS9 as long as there are no experiences that warrant doing it! Me me

I'm on 9.0.2 with Jail and I had planned to "update" iOS from iTunes using the "uppercase" to choose the ipws file from the computer

On other occasions it has helped me to update the device without losing data and erasing all traces of Cydia

It is true that afterwards I rarely manage to jailbreak because you avoid errors by installing the firmware again but I do not know if anyone has tried this way of updating

I have 9.0.2 and I installed it .. it remains to be seen if it works .. I don't want to risk it, I prefer to have it installed in case I need it
