DataMonitor: control your 3G consumption and other data on your iPhone (Cydia)

DataMonitor is an application that you can get in Cydia with which you can manage the consumption of your data rate; What is the difference from the applications of the App Store that do the same? The first thing is that you don't have to reopen it every time you do a respring or restart, which is very convenient for those of us who try many things from Cydia, and the second is that it cuts our consumption off for days and even hours.

Other things that this app has is that it shows us information about the device, system, battery, used, active and inactive RAM; CPU cycles, open processes, data network information, if your company supports voice over IP (VOIP), etc.

You can download it free on Cydia, you will find it in the BigBoss repo. You need to have done the jailbreak on your device.

My experience with these types of applications is that they only measure 3G consumption while they are active in the background, which makes them unreliable. Has any of you achieved total reliability? I would find it interesting.

I think you are wrong, I have used this app before and indeed if you have to keep it active because if it is not running in the background the app does not measure the data.

I confirm it. It puts it in the information that facilitates the application. Indicates that we must run the application if the mobile is rebooted. The only thing I want is to have a checker for these limitations officially included in iOS.

For the rest, I pass these apps

It looks pretty good, but for now the best application I have seen to view the data is the My Data Manager, the interface is spectacular and you can also see it for hours and days.

I like more Data Counter also from cydia. Nor do you need to respring or run it in the background, and you can also put the consumed megabytes in a balloon on the icon. So I don't even need to run the program, at a glance I see the megabytes consumed directly on the springboard 🙂

Using this application will not "drink" too much battery?
I know that something else has to consume, but according to my experience, these types of applications (both from Cydia and the AppStore) abuse the battery too much ...
Is it very noticeable in this one?

Gonzalo, any similar application that shows the use of 3G by application you use? I would like to know which program uses more 3G data because the daily consumption seems high for the two applications that I use regularly (Reeder and TuneirRadio),

    1.    gnzl said

not that I know of, but I tell you, it's tuneinRadio

    Thanks, Gonzalo.
I suspected it but it is something that I do not forgive this terminal, iphone 4, that to listen to the radio you must use the data network.
On the other hand, I like the Data Usage that shows you in a red balloon the consumption made since the last invoice (in percentage (, which I think this DataMonitor does not show.

DataCounter also gives you the red balloon, both in percentage and in megabytes
