Joel Thomas Zimmerman, better known by his stage name Deadmau 5, is a Canadian eletrohouse music producer as well as a DJ. deadmau5 produces a wide variety of styles within the house genre as well as other forms of electronic music.
deadmau 5 will present the program Mau5trap Presents which will begin airing this coming Friday at 3 pm Pacific time. This is not the first time that this DJ has worked with Apple since he was part of the cast of artists and DJs who played at the iTunes Festival in 2014. But perhaps it sounds more familiar to you because of the controversy he had with Kanye West a few weeks ago.
Surely you have heard about Kanye West's new album, that new album that can only be heard on Tidal, the music streaming service of the cool of the music that they consider streaming services and record companies are stealing. West claimed that his new album would never be on any other platform forcing many of his followers to open an account on Tidal. But the fans expressed their discomfort at this Solomonic decision and quickly his album became one of the most downloaded from The Pirate Bay.
West quickly announced that he would no longer release any records, but instead could only be heard on Tidal... something like putting doors to the field. Days later, he published on Twitter, his main means of communication to express himself and at the same time create controversy, a photo in which he saw how he was listening to music from a friend of his in one of the tabs, while in the other tabs we could clearly see how he had done a search on The Pirate Bay looking for software from a company co-founded by deadmau5.
Deadmau5 quickly replied to the tweet stating that if he did not have enough money to spend the 189 dollars that the application costs. West, true to character, quickly he snapped that what deadmau5 should do is dedicate himself to promoting Tidal and stop complaining about piracy.
