This past weekend has been very prolific in terms of news related to Apple's new streaming video service. Jennifer Aniston has won the SAG award as best drama actress for The Morning Show, we already know the release date of the remake of Amazon Stories from the hand of Steven Spielberg and the series Home Before Dark.
In addition, Apple has also officially announced the series' availability date. Defending jacob, a series interpreted by Chris Evans (Captain America) and Michelle dockery. This new series will make its debut on Apple TV + on April 24 with the first three episodes.
The series Defending jacob tells us the story of murder of a 14-year-old boy, murder that is investigated by an assistant prosecutor (Evans) and whose son was a partner of the deceased. The first indications point to a pedophile, but as the investigation progresses, everything seems to indicate that her son could be the culprit of the murder… and up to this point I can say that you later accuse me of offering too much information.
In addition to Chris Evans and Dockery, the rest of the cast is made up of Jaeden martell, Cherry jones, Betty gabriel y Sakina Jaffrey. The series is based on the novel, of the same name, written by William Landay in 2012, and It is composed of 8 episodes. This novel was translated into Spanish under the title Defender a Jacob, so it is more than likely that this is the same title that the series will have for the Spanish-speaking market.
This novel is considered an excellent thriller where the writer questions the limits of a judicial system in which children are treated as adults and which in turn raises the question to what extent do we know our children.
