Developers can now buy advertising from the App Store

App Store Ads

Since Phil Schiller also took over App Store, a lot of changes have come to the iOS app store. One of these changes was presented with the iOS 10 betas and it is about that developers will be able to buy what they have called Search Ads, that is to say, a privileged position before a determined search. For example, Tapbots may pay for Tweetbot to appear among the top apps when we search for "Twitter."

Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), posted the information on a page where it explains that «Search Ads is an efficient and simple way to promote your application in the App Store for iPhone and iPad in the US, helping customers discover it the moment they search for applications to download. Designed to provide users with a safe search experience, Search Ads proposes a new standard for displaying relevant ads while respecting user privacy«.

Search Ads, the results reach the App Store at the stroke of a checkbook

According to Apple, 65% of App Store downloads are made after a search, so using Search Ads would put an application in a clear advantageous position. On the other hand, those in Cupertino say that using this new advertising system is very simple and that it can be set up with just a few steps.

These search ads will start to appear in the App Store from October 5. They already appeared during the betas, when everything was in testing, being free at that time. On the page where they tell us about their arrival they only mention the United States, so it seems that the rest of the countries will still have to wait to see the new results. Of course, in this case I am not sure that the wait will be long. What do you think?
