IOS-based devices, since the latest versions allow automatic software download necessary to update the device and automatically install them on our device. But this feature may not be a good idea for users who are always hoping that it will ever be jailbroken.
Apple TV users, natively they have automatic installations activated on your devices, so that every time Apple releases a new update, the device automatically takes care of downloading and installing it so that our Apple TV is always using the latest version of tvOS.
Fortunately we can disable automatic updates so that only our device is updated if we want. In this way we avoid that the tvOS updates do not allow us to enjoy the jailbreak for example or that they can continue to enjoy certain functions that Apple has eliminated in an update. In addition, it will also prevent us from being Apple's guinea pigs by adopting versions that may not be completely mature, as has happened with iOS 9.3 and the large number of devices that have suffered problems after the release of the latest version.
In order to deactivate this option found within the system settings, we must perform the following steps:
- We head up to Settings from the home screen.
- Now we head up System.
- Within the system we go to Maintenance y Software updates.
- In the next menu we select NO in Update automatically.
Disabling automatic updates is a very simple process it will only take a few seconds. It is advisable to have them deactivated and wait a few days after the release of the final version of each update to avoid having problems like the ones I have mentioned that iOS 9.3 users have suffered.
