It was one of the moments that surprised me the most about the Keynote presentation of the iPhone 11 Pro: the demonstration of the new FiLMiC Pro. An update, of the best app to record video with our iPhone, which allowed us to use all the cameras of our new iPhone 11 Pro simultaneously. The update never came, but FiLMiC launched DoubleTake, an app that allows us (at least) to use two cameras simultaneously on our devices. Now it has just been updated to support the iPad Pro. After the jump we give you all the details of this version 2.0 of DoubleTake for iOS.
As we mentioned, DoubleTake is an app developed by the guys after the development of FiLMiC Pro, and it is an app that allows us to use two of the cameras on our device to record video simultaneously with both. An app that was originally only compatible with the iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone 11, and iPhone 11 Pro, but now comes to support the new iPad models. Specifically now it works without problems with the iPads of 2018, 2020, and the second generation iPhone SE. A support, that of the iPad, which comes with a redesign of the interface (you can see it in the image that heads this post) to take advantage of the large screen of the iPad, and even have precise control of the audio settings among others.
Despite all these news from DoubleTake, I have to say that it is a shame that what we saw in Keynote never came, or at least for now. It promised a lot since it meant giving a twist to how it is recorded with devices such as the iPhone, very useful for professional videographers. At the moment we have DoubleTake and hope to see all these possibilities in FiLMiC Pro. We will keep waiting ...
