Eufy RoboVac G20 Hybrid, powerful and low noise

Eufy launches its new robot vacuum cleaner with a power that has nothing to envy to the competition, a very low noise level and a very slim design It allows you to clean under furniture that you otherwise couldn't.

Features

  • Vacuum and scrub (optional)
  • Suction power 2500Pa (4 suction levels)
  • Smart Dynamic Navigation
  • 13 sensors (including gyroscope)
  • Noise level 55dB
  • Ultra-flat design
  • Autonomy of up to 120 minutes (depending on the selected power)
  • 600ml dirt tank
  • WiFi connectivity
  • iOS and Android app
  • Integration with Alexa and Google Assistant

Eufy has made its priorities clear with this robot cleaner: high power, low noise level and small size to reach all corners. To this we have to add an extremely easy-to-use application and the option to use scrubbing while you vacuum. I like the idea of being able to use scrubbing or not, since in my case I tend to be averse to that functionality.

In the box we find the main unit along with all the accessories it needs for its operation, and we also have some even extra items to use as a sparesuch as side brush and filter. We have the following elements: cleaning tank, water tank, scrubbing cloth (washable), side brushes (x2), filter (x2), charging base, power adapter, and protective base for the floor. To this we must add a small brush to clean the different elements of the robot.

Configuration and application

The RoboVac G20 Hybrid robot has WiFi connectivity, so that it connects to the internet to be able to control both at home and away from it through our smartphone. It has an app for iOS (link) and Android (link) and through them we can configure the robot from the moment we take it out of the box and turn it on (remember that it has a power switch on the base). The steps to follow are very simple, and are only necessary the first time that we use it, from that moment it is ready to work when we need it.

The application is in Spanish, which is appreciated, and it even allows us to change the language of the robot to Spanish. Because the robot will talk to us every time it starts cleaning, or goes to charge, or has a problem. It will send us a notification to the mobile, and it will speak to us in case we are close. After the setup process we can add the robot to Alexa or Google Assistant, Unfortunately we do not have integration with HomeKit, which does not yet include these devices among its available accessories, nor through Shortcuts.

The configuration of the robot is as simple as its operation. The application is extremely simple, no endless menus to access the robot's functions. Shortcuts on the main screen to all functions and a simple and very intuitive configuration menu. For my taste it is too simple, I am missing an important element: the cleaning map. I do not ask for virtual limits, nor complicated things, only a map that tells me where it has cleaned and where it has not, because there is no way of knowing if it is not.

Cleaning

The robot works fine, it does exactly what you ask. The cleaning system it has is a bit different than what I'm used to from other models. To clean, what it does is create 4×4 meter squares and make several passes to finish off the square, then create another one and so on until it has cleaned the entire house. I have observed it clean and it does not clog easily., it passes well between the legs of the chairs, under furniture thanks to its small size and goes from one room to another without problems.

The manufacturer speaks of a maximum of 120 minutes of autonomy, but the reality is that it lasts less. With normal vacuuming power and without having carpets or rugs at home, which would need more power, it has about 70 minutes of autonomy, after which it has not completed the complete cleaning of the floor. A recharge is necessary and it works again, luckily All this is done automatically, it returns to the base and when it reaches 80% charge, it resumes cleaning where he left her. By the way, the noise level is surprising, because it makes noise, obviously, but it is not annoying. You can comfortably watch TV while doing your homework.

The size of the tank is just right for daily cleaning, so after cleaning you will have to empty it. It is not a major problem, since the tank is very accessible and emptying it is very simple, as well as putting it back. The app also tells you when to replace filters, brushes, etc. The truth is that I do not have the slightest complaint with the vacuuming performed by the robot.. The scrubbing, well, he hasn't surprised me, because I really don't know any robot that really scrubs. As a companion to vacuuming that helps remove some surface dirt and moisten the floor, it's fine. But don't expect it to replace a good mop.

Editor's opinion

The new Eufy RoboVac G20 Hybrid robot combines very good vacuuming power with a noise level that is not annoying at all. Its operation is correct, its application is very easy to use, and without great pretensions it is a mid-range model that will leave you quite satisfied. You can buy now on Amazon for €299 (link)
