Eve has completely upgraded her motion sensor to make it compatible with Thread technology and in addition to giving it a new design, include a lighting sensor which gives you new features.
Eve continues with its clear commitment to HomeKit, Apple's home automation platform, and has completely renewed its movement sensor, Eve Motion. This new accessory, which runs on batteries and connects to our home automation network via bluetooth, can now not only detect any movement in a range of 9 meters away and with an angle of action of up to 120º, but also includes a light sensor, which allows us not only to activate lights when movement is detected, but also to do so when the ambient light in a room or from outside is low.
The new Eve Motion renews its design, more modern and minimalist, and has IPX3 certification, so we can place it inside the house or outside, easily resisting environmental inclemencies such as sun or rain. It is also compatible with the new Thread technology, which is essential for when Apple implements the new Matter protocol in HomeKit at the end of this year, which will allow us to add many more devices to our home automation network and others such as Alexa or Google Home.
Thread technology also allows its reach to be much greater. Being Bluetooth, one of the limitations of these devices is their range to the accessory hub, Apple TV or HomePod, but with Thread the compatible accessories themselves act as hubs and connect to each other, so the range is increased and we can place them much further from the central as long as there are other Thread devices to connect to.
