When it comes to note-taking apps, the first cross-platform app that comes to mind is Evernote. With this application we can take notes, edit them, add all kinds of content and have them available on practically any device with an operating system. But just because an application is very good does not mean that it will be so for all users. If for whatever reason you do not like the application to take notes of the elephant, in this article we will propose several alternatives to Evernote.

Before we begin, I would like to say that the following list not in order of importanceIf not, how have they come to my head? Some of the following alternatives to Evernote are the best that I have personally tried, others have recommended them to me and others appear as the best alternatives on a famous website whose only reason for being is to propose alternatives. Alternatives to Evernote for iOS

IOS Notes

In June 2015, Apple told us about the new app IOS Notes that came with iOS 9. Although it is true that the most demanding users can fall short, it is also true that it is installed by default in iOS and offers a wide range of possibilities, such as adding text (DOH!), drawings, photos, videos or, from iOS 9.3, the possibility of protecting our notes with a code or Touch ID.

On the other hand, we will also have all notes synced by iCloud, which will allow us to consult them taking advantage of one of Apple's strongest points: its ecosystem. Without a doubt, the native iOS application is the first thing we have to try if we look for alternatives to Evernote.

Notability

Until the introduction of iOS 9 and its new Notes application, the application that I used to fill in the shortcomings of the native application was Notability. We cannot say that it is an inexpensive application, but it does offer a wide range of possibilities, such as handwriting, many types of fonts, highlighted text, import / write in PDFs and synchronization by iCloud. The worst is his price of € 7.99 but, like everything, it may not seem expensive if we are going to take advantage of it.

Google Keep

In any list of production applications there must be something created by Google. If we forget that we will be losing some privacy, a good alternative to Evernote is Google Keep. Like all the software of the now company owned by Alphabet, Google Keep is a free application and, if it is on this list, it offers us the possibility to take notes, create lists, share them and synchronize them in the cloud. It is not the application with more options, but it can serve us perfectly, especially if our preferred cloud is Google Drive.

Microsoft OneNote

If Google offers us an alternative to Evernote, Microsoft would not be less. The creator of the most used office suite on the planet offers us OneNote, an application that will allow us to capture and save practically anything, organize our notes in the cloud, create shared notes and access the notes from virtually any device. OneNote is also a free application, as long as we think that money is the only way to pay.

Simplenotote

If what we need is a minimalist and easy-to-use application, Simplenotote we are interested. As the name suggests, Simplenote is a very simple app that focuses on efficiency and clarity. Our notes will be synchronized in the cloud and all for a price of € 0. It must be recognized that this application does not offer many possibilities, but also that it is the most minimalist that we can find in the App Store.

One Diary + Notes

Another great alternative to Evernote is Day One. Although it is not a free application either, at the time of this writing it is on sale with a price of 4.99 €. As a paid application that is and similar to Notability, Day One will offer us a wide range of possibilities, such as adding photos, creating multiple diaries, personalized reminders or blocking with a code / Touch ID.
