Facebook update your app Facebook Messenger so that users can send voice messages. The update is available for iOS and allows you to send audio messages from one minute long recorded with the mobile itself.
La experiment is open only to users of Facebook Messenger for iOS in canada, but if it works well in a future update that may change the market for VoIP calls in a radical way.

Hitherto Skype dominates this segment, with millions of users around the world, but, if Facebook arrives with its almost one billion users, things will change and the competition will be tough. The application would allow to do calls via WiFi or data plan, depending on signal availability. So far there are no user reports, but it is likely that Facebook uses a technology that, like skype, improves the audio quality compared to a regular phone call.
