Facetune 2, a direct evolution towards the cash register

Lightrick's

Facetune is undoubtedly one of the applications that has been the most successful in the App Store over the last few years, since it has given us the option to improve the portraits taken with the iPhone in a matter of seconds in a very positive way in a matter of seconds. Now Lightricks comes back with a second edition that brings us nice but also unpleasant improvements.

To better

The arrival of the second edition of Facetune is accompanied by a function highly demanded by users of the first version, and it is none other than the live editing. That is, every time we make a change in the retouching, we will see it at the same time, without having to wait even to take the photograph and therefore resulting in a very notable time saving when we make multiple retouching depending on the posture in the photo.

Other notable improvements of the application are the new settings (especially in the dynamic lighting of photography) that allow us go a little further when managing the appearance of the person we are retouching. In addition Lightricks has added a system that recreates our face in 3D to be able to make adjustments impossible for almost any other application both for quality and precision.

Monetization

And this is where the problem comes from, and where users have gone into a rage. Instead of offering a complete application with all its accessories for a fixed price, Lightricks has opted for two separate models: we can buy the touch-ups individually (resulting in a huge bill) or we can subscribe to the application for prices that seem somewhat higher than what people see reasonable.

Subscriptions that give full access go to 1,99 euros per month, 9,99 euros per year or 29,99 euros for the lifetime subscription, prices that may be justified but that if we follow the usual market trend can be considered relatively high. And it is something that users have not missed, since the reviews of the application accumulate the opinions of a star complaining about the new business model imposed by Lightricks and the prices set by the company in the application.

The reality is that when retouching portraits, this application has no rival in terms of the speed / results ratio. The price for someone who uses it little can be excessive, but it is true that if you use it continuously at the end we are talking about less than one euro a month, which sounds reasonable.

It makes me laugh that you defend this kind of thing. It's shameless! And without counting all the people who already paid with the previous version. With people like that they will tease us all our lives, it is clear
