Female or male voice for virtual assistants?

It seems that there are reasons to think that users have the habit of using female voices for virtual assistants and that is that according to the American media The Wall Street Journal, users are sexist when it comes to choosing what type of voice we want to speak to us when we ask the device something, a woman or a man. For now there is something that is clairvoyant in this whole issue and it is that From the beginning, all virtual assistants or almost all have a female name and the default voice in them is that of a woman, so it is easier for the user to get used to hearing this type of voice and no longer modify it. 

There would be several keys to all this but it is true that female voices are always softer, more welcoming and, ultimately, calmer than those of a man. But this goes by taste and is that each person is a world for these issues, it is how the colors, for example ... In any case what is evident is that most of these virtual assistants like Siri, we They "force" to speak of them as females, since Siri has always been defined as female like Cortana from Microsoft or Alexa from Amazon even though there is a clear difference and that is that Siri, if it allows to change to male voice and the rest does not. 

In my case I can say that I have never changed Siri's voice for the male one and I suppose that like me many more people will be the same, but it is not because I like it more or less that it is a woman who answers me, simply the habit and the little need to make this change. In addition, Joanna Stern herself, editor of this entry in the North American medium, invites us to make the change of voice and try Siri in masculine. This is something that can be done from any Apple device that has Siri, but in reality it is not something that is transcendental for its use either, it is simply something that you do not usually touch because it comes by default in feminine ...
