Firefox wants to become the default browser on iOS with its latest update

Apple has always been known for not allowing third-party applications could modify the natural order of the iOS operating system. But it seems that this is changing little by little. Firefox, like the Outlook, Airmail, Mail.Ru, myMail and Spark applications have been updated allowing us to open web links from these clients through Firefox. In the case of Firefox, as it is not an email client, the latest update allows you to use any of these applications to send emails directly from a web page. The beginning of the end of the Mail application begins.

By default, applications continue to use Safari and Mail to open links or send emails, so we must enter the settings to change the mail client, in the case of Firefox or browser in the case of mail applications. In the image above we can see how the Spark mail client allows us to select as default browsers between Safari, Firefox, Chrome or the application's own.

Thus, Firefox wants to expand its presence in the telephony market, where it is currently not among the first options of users, both in iOS where Safari is king and in Android like Chrome it has practically no rival.
