FlexBright, Apple approves the first "f.lux type" application for iOS

FlexBright

When Apple introduced and released the first beta of iOS 9.3, it posted on a dedicated web page all the news that would come with the next big release (with permission from iOS 10) of iOS. Among the most outstanding novelties is Night Shift, a system based on f.lux that changes the temperature of the screen to, in short, help us sleep better. But the first jug of cold water would arrive shortly after, when we learned that Night Shift would not be available on 32-bit devices. But, like many other applications, it has already been approved FlexBright and it promises to do the same as f.lux or Apple's new feature.

We cannot be sure what the reason is that they have supported this app. If we look back, from iOS 9 there is the possibility of installing applications on an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad "dumping" them with Xcode. f.lux was one of these applications that made its code available to anyone who wanted to use it in this way, but Apple revoked its certificate, probably because they planned to launch Night Shift. When the developers of f.lux They found out about the new feature in iOS 9.3, wrote a statement asking them to allow them to upload apps that could take advantage of it, and have now supported FlexBright.

FlexBright could be the first of many

But FlexBright does not work like Night Shift, something that is also understandable knowing what Apple is like. The function of iOS 9.3, like f.lux for those of us who have jailbreak, it automatically changes the temperature of the screen when it is getting dark, for which it takes into account the time at which the sun sets in the area where we are. For its part, FlexBright will send us a notification when the time comes and from there we can activate the night mode or not.

FlexBright has been in the App Store for some time, but it was not until version 2.0 that they have included new features more similar to the aforementioned systems. If you are interested, you have to know that it has a price of € 2.99 and that, if you really want it, I would hurry to download it. Who knows, it might disappear from the App Store in the next few days.

UPGRADE: As you can see, we were not wrong and the application has already been removed from the App Store worldwide.
