Fortnite will return to iOS via GeForce Now

Fortnite

In May 2021, we echoed a news item that pointed out that Fortnite would return to iOS no need to go through the App Store via GeForce Now, Nvidia's platform that works in a similar way to Stadia and Microsoft's xCloud, where servers are responsible for running the game.

However, GeForce does not allow you to buy games, but it is a simple platform to be able to play any title that we have purchased on other video game platforms be it the Epic Games Store, Steam… After a long wait, GeForce will start offering Fortnite this week through its platform through a closed beta.

In this way, all users who want to play Fortnite again on an iPhone or iPad, as they will only have to use a browser to access GeForce Now.

It should be remembered that, like Stadia and xCloud, GeForce Now cannot offer an application to access your platform due to App Store restrictions.

As stated from The Verge, fortnite offer full support for touch controls. Presumably, it will also offer support for controllers, just as both Google and Microsoft currently offer with their video game platforms.

To access this beta it is necessary be a paying user of this platform. What is currently unknown is whether to play Fortnite through GeForce Now, it will be necessary to pay the subscription or if Epic Games has reached a special agreement with Nvidia to reduce the rate or that it does not have to be paid directly.

For now, it is unknown what could be the release date of Fortnit on GeForce Now. We will have to wait for this beta tests to see how optimized the performance is.

If everything works as expected, It is likely that by February of this year, all Fortnite users can once again enjoy this title on their iPhone, iPad or even Mac.
