For the most veteran artists, streaming music services have always been something that they have not seen favorably and many have been those who have withdrawn their catalog of all services of this type to later include them again. One of the legends, Neil Young removed his entire catalog in July 2015 from all streaming music services, leaving all his followers without the possibility of being able to enjoy his songs wherever they were without having to download them on their mobile device. But it seems that this legend has changed his mind and has returned to offer its entire catalog, not only on Apple Music, but also on Spotify, Deezer and others.

Neil Young announced the withdrawal of his catalog from music streaming services in July 2015 stating that it was not for money reasons, but because of the quality with which the content was reproduced.

Streaming is over for me. I hope it is not a problem for my fans.

It is not about the money, although my income (as well as that of other artists) has been drastically reduced due to deals made without my consent.

It's because of the quality of the music. I don't need my music to sound worse than any other traditional distribution medium. I don't feel good allowing my fans to enjoy my music with this terrible quality. It's bad for my fans.

When the quality is right, I'll try again. Never say never.

Causally, Neil Young offered his catalog again through Tidal in April, offering a sound quality very similar to that of CD, although its songs were available with a standard quality and a maximum bithrate of 320 kbps, while that of Apple Music is 256 kbps
